Inspiration

Creating a viable solution to minimize emissions, inefficiencies, and costs for Midwest State University.

What it does

Our solution improves the visibility of electricity routing and uncover electricity inefficiencies and use predictive modeling to forecast potential energy critical points. Additionally, it looks to save money by suggesting new solutions through a large-language-model. Data is provided by smart-meters installed around campus. We would like to use a blend of natural gas and bio gas to reduce the carbon footprint of MSU. Biogas is created by taking food, water, and landfill waste. Lastly, we want to improve the energy efficiency of the HVAC system and lighting systems through reducing energy use during peak hours.

Challenges we ran into

Low current data visibility, unknown pricing, and low budget are challenges we considered when building this project.

What we learned

Learned about the anaerobic digestion process in producing biogas.

What's next for Wawa

Building the infrastructure, implementing software, and creating prototypes to efficiently execute our solution at MSU.
