Michigan State University – Reclaim Hosting
The Michigan State University partnership with Reclaim Hosting provides access to server space and advanced website capabilities within select programs at MSU.
We have paused new account creation on the system for Fall 2025 as we evaluate our future plans. Currently, we recommend using the Knowledge Commons/MSU Commons platform for your website.
If you are a faculty member or student looking to create a simple, yet professional portfolio and digital profile, you can now sign up for a free MSU Commons website.
If you wish to create a website for a conference or something you anticipate will be hosted at MSU multiple times, you can use MSU Commons. This will give you a .commons.msu.edu URL and is the MSU-specific version of Knowledge Commons designed for hosting projects that are owned and controlled at MSU.
If you want a website that can be handed off to any team or person at any other University or group in the future, we recommend using Knowledge Commons to create it. This will give you a URL like .hcommons.org that you can use from year to year by adding new/different folks as site owners regardless of where they are located. Sign up for a free MSU Knowledge Commons website.
The Commons platforms are free and open to all for use, you can use your MSU NetID and password to sign up for an account.
