Outages, lighting and rain...
It has been blisteringly hot here, despite our summer rains. Outages are a regular feature and the latest halted the laundry for a brief period. Mercy is slumbering, balled up in her stroller, and until someone texted me, napping peacefully has been the only thing on my mind today.
My adventure at the phlebotomist last Friday netted me one heck of a black and blue memento, still there. The bloods say I'm healthy, so its all good. The procedure is set for mid-October. Seems kinda far out if the docs are concerned about cancer.
I plan on going back to bed, book in hand and a cup of tea at the ready.
I hope all is peaceful in your corners of the planet.

Last Test Before Procedure
I'm fasting prior to blood samples and trip to lab in the morning. I've had an EKG and chest x-ray and a sonogram of my legs searching for clots. The PCP, a female internist, seemed decent and explained more about my E-R results. The uterine lining issue is indicative of either cancer or a potential pre-cancer situation, so needs sorting as quickly as possible. As soon as the GYN has the lab/scan results, the D and C can be scheduled. Once that is done, I may face further surgery. I'm updating my arrangements, especially regarding Mercy, should something unexpected occur.
Thanks for your kind thoughts.

Not Yet...
During my sudden copious bleed and visit to an E-R on July 11, I had a scan and a pelvic examination. The medical professionals prescribed a medication to stem the bleeding and essentially said, "Get thee to a GYN for a biopsy/" They acted as though I actually had cancer.
The next business day, a Monday, I secured the first available GYN appointment in a practice that takes my Medicare PPO. I had that appointment yesterday, finally, expecting to have an in-office biopsy of endometrium, the standard procedure, and one I had read about in preparation. Things did not go as anticipated. Firstly, I could not climb on the standard exam table. leaving all concerned flummoxed. Secondly, as requested, my friend and I remained there for another three hours until the table used for sonograms became available. The attempted exam, a third negative experience, resulted in the doctor saying she could not see anything but some blood. After days of no bleeding. I had begun bleeding lightly again earlier that morning, a fact I shared on arrival there. This then resulted in the GYN sending me to a GP office in the same complex to make an appointment to be sure I am healthy enough to have an in-hospital D and C under general anesthesia, an environment that provides more help to the doctor in positioning me and getting me on or off the table. She handed me a pamphlet on fibroids and polyps and hastily left the room. My GP appointment is coming up. She is an internist. I hope she provides a better experience. I plan on asking her for a referral to another GYN and asking about their equipment before any appointment.
The absence of accessible tables is easily remedied as there are plenty available. The lack of them speaks to ignorance as they benefit all ages and the heavily pregnant in addition to persons like myself. Although I have read of this problem in medical journals that reference the problem being an impediment to care, this is the first time I've experienced it directly. As to one's positions on the table, that is an issue best handled patiently and not in a frazzled state. I do not yet have a diagnosis for this problem.

Nursey Mercy...
Tuesday chores turned into a major complication. After laundering my bedding, including coverlet, I attempted to smooth out the far side of the bed and slipped to the floor in a sitting position instead. Then I faced the question of getting up and decided to try the front room arm chair as a leveraging point using my upper arms since using my knees is painful. This might have succeeded had I not already been tired before ending up on the bedroom floor.
As it turned out, I got myself and chair into the front room and ran out out of steam, eventually falling asleep on the floor until Mercy licked me into consciousness, At that point, I decided to retrieve my phone from the kitchen charger and then realized I needed to unlock both my front and storm doors if anyone needed to come in, I eventually accomplished both tasks and called a friend. She reached me just as the last lock opened, closing Mercy in the bathroom and getting me gratefully hydrated. I called emergency services and fire rescue responded quickly. getting me up and into my chair in a flash before departing just as quickly.
My friend stayed to clean the floors, collect my groceries from the front stoop. make sure I ate and put on fresh pjs, and see me safely into bed. Mercy and I slept like rocks.
Today. a hot soak and cleaning has revealed some bruises and though still sore, I am better able to move around, feed myself, look after the cat, do some laundry and organize myself for a medical appointment on Friday. I must find a method of keeping my phone closer to hand and house keys are being given to the friend after the appointment.
My thanks to everyone for the kind birthday salutations. I hope you all have a good day.

Sixty-Six Today...
I can hardly believe it, though I don't look young. I'm grateful for each day. Mercy and I are going to play today. I almost gave her a heart attack last evening, so I must make that up. Fortunately, she is forgiving and has calmed.
Have a great day!
