
Roman Pipko was nominated by President Trump to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Estonia in January 2025 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in October 2025.
Mr. Pipko was born and raised in Estonia and studied law at the University of Tartu before immigrating to the United States in 1981.
Roman is a graduate of Columbia University, where he worked at the W.A. Harriman Institute for Soviet Studies, and Yale Law School.
Roman practiced law in New York, served as senior counsel at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and was senior managing director of the Russian American Enterprise Fund. He negotiated transactions with private companies and government agencies in the United States, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Until his appointment, he served as President and Trustee of the Rabbi Arthur Schneier Park East Day School in New York.
