Drifting Volume Potentiometer
« on: December 17, 2025, 02:02:08 PM »
My Pro 2 has had an issue with the main volume knob, where the value turns down over time. This issue has steadily gotten worse. It's basically not usable lately.

Do any of you know of a fix for this that I can handle on my own (with no electronics knowledge) or if this needs to be handled by Sequential?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

First thing is to 'work' the pot, which can remove any dust/debris in the part. To do this, simply turn the pot back and forth through it's full rotation for a minute or so.

Connect the synth to MIDI Monitor or MIDI Ox, then see if you still get errant output (make sure all other MIDI applications are closed).

If you still have trouble, send us an email and we can help you out with the next steps. support@sequntial.com.

Back in the day, DSI employees used to advise removing the pot knob and putting some Deoxit on the pole of the potentiometer and working it back and forth. Not sure if this is still canon...
