Strengthening Hong Kong–Beijing Tech Collaboration: Haidian District Government Delegation Visits ASTRI We had the pleasure of welcoming a 30-member delegation from the Haidian District Government (Beijing) to ASTRI earlier this week. At ASTRI Technovation Centre, our Chief Commercial Officer, Mr Savio Ng, and the team have in-depth exchanges and explore future collaboration opportunities with senior officials from the Haidian District Foreign Affairs Office, Talent Work Bureau, alongside leaders from top technology enterprises. Ms Chen Peng, Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Beijing Haidian District People’s Government introduced latest development of the district and directions for collaboration, while ASTRI shared core technologies and latest technological advancements. The delegation also visited ASTRI laboratories, gaining first-hand understanding of our top-notch technologies in smart city, artificial intelligence, application-specific integrated circuits, and more. This visit not only deepened mutual understanding between Beijing and Hong Kong innovation and technology (I&T) sector, but also laid a solid foundation for future collaboration. Today, Mr Yujie Lan, Vice President of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and Mr. Hoi Shan Hsu, Director and President of the Beijing-Hong Kong Academic Exchange Centre (BHKAEC) led a delegation to visit ASTRI. We had an in-depth and fruitful exchange on deepening research collaboration between the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong in promoting fundamental and applied research, as well as accelerating the commercialisation of technological breakthroughs. The NSFC plays a pivotal role in driving the Nation's fundamental research and nurturing R&D talent. During the meeting, Ir Prof Sunny Lee BBS JP, Board Chairman of ASTRI pointed out that we possess a unique "full-chain" capability from fundamental research to real-world application, along with strong synergy with local universities, the industry, and international research networks.
