Collins Aerospace Track
Teams will work to create a simulation or training device that would benefit the local
community.
For example:
• Creating a simulation of local metro lines that can be used by planners to
decide where new metro lines would benefit the most amount of people.
• An AR application that would show models of the solar system and help
students identify different parts of the Milky Way Galaxy.
• An VR application that would help teens learn how to drive.
• Simulating robot taxi traffic in a metropolitan city.
Judging Criteria
• Innovation & Impact
o How well does the project meet the requirements of the prompt?
o How innovative was the idea?
o Has this project been done before at hackathons in the past?
o How creative is their project at solving the problem?
• Technology
o How technically challenging/impressive was the implementation?
o Did the solution work? Did the team achieve everything they wanted?
o How were visual and UI/UX considerations were considered during
the design process?
o Did the team stretch themselves to learn something new or
challenging?
• Presentation
o How complete the prototype demoed to the judges is?
o How clearly did the presentation articulate the problem chosen to be
addressed and was solution was implemented east to understand?
o How did team members collaborate on the project?

• Technical Panel Interview for a Full Time Software Engineer Position (P1
Grade) working in the Simulation Systems & Solutions Portfolio.

o The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security
clearance is required.
