The International Conference on Multimedia Retrieval (ICMR) is the premier scientific conference for multimedia retrieval worldwide. ICMR brings together researchers and practitioners to present original research, exchange ideas between academia and industry, host complementary events like workshops and panels, and facilitate networking among delegates. This year's conference will feature hybrid participation options, allowing attendees to join both in-person and virtually from anywhere in the world. While ACM ICMR 2026 will be broadcast online for registered participants, the conference will primarily be an onsite event. In particular, presenting authors of all oral presentations are expected to attend the conference on location. Posters will be presented in hybrid onsite/online sessions, so virtual poster presentations will be possible.

The Multimedia Evaluation Initiative (MediaEval) offers challenges related to multimedia analysis, retrieval and exploration. Information about sign up and participation is available on the MediaEval 2026 website. Depending on the task, submissions will be due 15 May - 1 June. MediaEval will hold its annual workshop on 15-16 June co-located with ICMR 2026 (and online).
ICMR 2026 will be held at the historic Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) in Amsterdam from June 16-19, 2026. The venue offers world-class conference facilities in a stunning historic building.
