The virtual realms of online gaming have created a myriad of complex economies that intriguingly mirror our real-world dynamics. These in-game economies, brimming with currencies, assets, and trade systems, face challenges akin to those in the physical world, one of the most prominent being inflation. When left unchecked, inflation can disrupt the gaming environment’s balance, diminishing the value of in-game assets and diluting the players’ gaming experience. Emerging as a revolutionary solution to this age-old problem, blockchain technology has sparked a new era in creating sustainable in-game economies. Among the pioneers leveraging this technology is Ajuna, a blockchain-powered gaming platform that seeks to reshape the gaming landscape with fairness and player engagement at its core.

Inflation, a significant economic concern, equally plagues the virtual and physical worlds. In the context of gaming, inflation manifests as an excessive amount of in-game currency leading to decreased purchasing power, thereby shaking the stability of the in-game economy. This imbalance is further heightened in traditional gaming models, where game developers, the central authority, can introduce new currency into the system arbitrarily. Such practices can depreciate the value of the gamers’ hard-earned assets and achievements, creating an unfair gaming environment.

Blockchain technology presents an effective antidote to these issues with its fundamental decentralization. By adopting blockchain technology, game developers can implement a cap on the amount of in-game currency, thereby controlling its supply and staving off inflation. Moreover, the inherent transparency of blockchain provides gamers with visibility into all currency transactions, offering a level of certainty and security absent in traditional online gaming ecosystems.

Ajuna exemplifies this innovative application of blockchain, leveraging the technology to construct a balanced and sustainable in-game economy. By creating a finite supply of its native tokens, Ajuna successfully regulates its in-game economy, safeguarding the value of gamers’ assets and achievements. The transparency provided by Ajuna’s blockchain-backed system enables players to trace the history and scarcity of items, enhancing the gaming experience’s fairness and sustainability.

In addition to its effective use of blockchain for economic balance, Ajuna has taken a step further in ensuring a sustainable in-game economy by empowering players through digital ownership. By allowing players to truly own, sell, and trade their in-game assets in a secure and open marketplace, Ajuna pioneers a player-driven economy. This significant shift fosters a sense of autonomy and engagement among players who can now extract real-world value from their in-game exploits and achievements.

The decentralization of power, facilitated by blockchain technology, serves a dual purpose. Not only does it mitigate inflation, but it also fosters a more engaged and dynamic gaming community. Gamers, evolving into stakeholders in the game’s economy, are incentivized to contribute positively to the ecosystem, fostering a thriving and sustainable in-game economy.

A core component of blockchain technology that plays a crucial role in sustaining gaming economies is the concept of smart contracts. These self-executing contracts autonomously perform transactions when predetermined conditions are fulfilled, eliminating intermediaries’ need. Within the gaming realm, smart contracts can efficiently manage transactions, uphold game rules, and even regulate the creation and distribution of in-game assets.

At Ajuna, smart contracts are the bedrock of the gaming ecosystem, ensuring the game economy’s rules are maintained fairly and consistently. These contracts enhance the transparency, security, and efficiency of transactions within the Ajuna platform, further fortifying the sustainability of its in-game economy.

In conclusion, the inherent features of blockchain technology — transparency, security, and decentralization — are uniquely equipped to address the issue of inflation in virtual worlds. Innovative platforms like Ajuna harness these capabilities, paving the way for a more balanced, engaging, and sustainable gaming experience. As the field of blockchain gaming continues to evolve, it is fascinating to observe how it reshapes in-game economies and transforms the landscape of online gaming. For gamers who are keen on experiencing this revolutionary, blockchain-powered shift firsthand, Ajuna presents a vibrant, player-driven economy waiting to be explored.

About Ajuna Network

Ajuna Network is a Switzerland-based decentralized gaming platform that brings blockchain gaming into the mainstream by integrating on-chain functionality with the world’s leading development engines, Unreal and Unity. With that in mind, we’re looking at the finest points of innovation and how we can play a critical role in the future of gaming. We know that Web3 gaming will unlock new possibilities for virtual and augmented reality. Here’s how.

Web3 Gaming and Virtual/Augmented Reality: A Perfect Match

One of the main benefits of Web3 gaming is that it can unlock new possibilities for virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) experiences. This enables the creation of virtual worlds where players can fully immerse themselves in the game and interact with other players in real time, Decentraland is a prime example.

GameFi in Virtual Reality

GameFi aims to create a new type of gaming experience where players can earn real-world value through playing games and participating in game-related activities. Virtual Reality is what brings GameFi to the masses.

By leveraging blockchain technology and NFTs, Web3 gaming can enable gamers to own their virtual assets, which can be used across multiple games and platforms. This means that players can create a unique identity in the virtual world and build up their collection of assets over time. These assets can also be used as collateral in DeFi applications, such as lending and borrowing.

GameFi in Augmented Reality

Web3 gaming makes it possible for the creation of decentralized marketplaces. Gamers would be able to buy, sell, and trade their assets with other players. This creates new revenue streams for gamers and game developers, as well as increases the value of in-game assets.

Ajuna gives gamers a voice in the future of the gaming industry and a share in the value that they are creating. With the use of NFTs, players are able to own virtual real estate, buildings, and other assets in the virtual world, which they can customize and monetize.

Gamers could also have a stake in the games they play, through the use of tokens. Players can then earn a share of the game’s revenue by owning and staking these tokens.

AR gaming has the remarkable ability to reshape our reality by seamlessly integrating virtual elements into our everyday world. Major corporations, such as Apple and Google, have recognized the immense potential of augmented reality and are placing a significant emphasis on its development.

These industry giants firmly believe that AR will play a crucial role in shaping the future of gaming and technology as a whole by leveraging their technological expertise and vast resources, and are actively investing in AR gaming. With the integration of AR, our real world can be transformed into a dynamic and interactive gaming environment, offering unparalleled experiences that blur the lines between imagination and reality.

The goal is for Web3 gaming to enable cross-game interoperability, where players can use their in-game assets across multiple games and platforms. This means that a player’s virtual identity can transcend individual games and integrate to the larger universe.

Game developers can make games that are more decentralized, transparent, and fair because of the numerous opportunities that Web3 offers. They can use blockchain technology to create games where the rules and outcomes are recorded on a public ledger, making the game more transparent and reducing the potential for cheating.

Overall, Web3 gaming has the potential to revolutionize the gaming market by giving players access to more immersive, interactive, and transparent experiences and Ajuna is leading the way. Web3 gaming will open up new avenues for virtual and augmented reality by utilizing blockchain technology and NFTs, ushering in a new era of decentralized, open, and equitable gaming.

About Ajuna Network

Ajuna Network is a Switzerland-based decentralized gaming platform bringing blockchain gaming into the mainstream by integrating GameFi functionality with the world’s leading development engines, Unreal and Unity. With OpenAI, MidJourney, Bard, Netomi, and, most recently, AutoGPT, we’re seeing a giant shift in many industries. Doors are opening to a unique and exciting future. Perhaps one of the most exciting area’s AI will have its impact is the Web3 gaming industry.

AI And ML Take The Lead

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are two of the most powerful technologies of our time, and they are rapidly transforming the way we interact with the world around us. The use of AI and ML enables game developers to create an immersive and engaging gaming experience. It opens up new possibilities for players that were previously unimaginable due to simple programming constraints. There’s a big picture coming from AI and ML.

AI and ML can be used to generate realistic worlds, as well as to provide players with new levels of customisation and control over their gaming experiences in real-time fashion. Another impactful area is how it will be used to improve game fairness and combat cheating, as well as to provide developers with insights into player behaviour. Despite the worries of AI in many spaces, almost every game developer is jumping at the opportunity to use AI to optimise game design and monetise their work.

Where Can AI and ML Be Used?

Here are some ways in which AI and ML are reshaping Web3 gaming experiences.

Procedural generation:

Procedural generation was implemented into the popular “No Man’s Sky.” Procedural generation is used to create an entire universe with 18 quintillion planets, each with its own unique flora, fauna, and terrain. The game uses AI and ML to generate these planets on the fly, meaning that players can explore an almost infinite number of worlds that are completely unique.

This creates an endless variety of gameplay experiences, making No Man’s Sky a game that players can continue to explore for hundreds of hours without ever encountering the same world twice.

With Web3 games, AI and ML will be used to generate unique game worlds, characters, and objects that can provide an endless variety of game experiences for players.

Personalisation

AI is a fantastic way to learn about players’ gaming preferences and behaviours to individually personalise game experiences. This can include recommending games, creating custom levels, changing difficulty accordingly, and providing tailored rewards.

Let’s say a player takes on a quest to save the kingdom from an evil sorcerer. Along the way, the AI in the game learns about the player’s preferred playstyle, from their preferred weapons to their favourite spells.

Using this information, the game generates custom levels that are tailored to the player’s abilities, ensuring that the challenge is perfectly balanced. Additionally, the game provides rewards that are tailored to the player’s achievements, making every victory feel truly way more meaningful.

Fraud/Cheat Detection

Machine Learning will turn into one of the fastest and greatest ways to detect cheating. ML can help detect and prevent fraud in gaming transactions. This can prevent cheating, improve fairness, and protect the integrity of the game.

Valve famously uses a flawed “Valve Anti-Cheat” as their way to prevent cheaters in the game. CSGO is one of the most popular games in the world. However, as with any competitive game, it has a massive cheating problem. To combat this, CSGO developers should be using ML to detect fraudulent behavior, such as aim botting and wallhacking.

The ML system can detect new ways in which players try to circumvent its system. This helps to ensure a fair and competitive environment for all players, preserving the integrity of the game.

Monetisation

A hard-working developer has a fair reason to make a living from their work. AI and ML can be used to bring monetization to Web3 games in a variety of ways. One of the most significant ways in which these technologies can be used to generate revenue is through the creation of personalized in-game purchases.

In Web3 gaming, players truly own their in-game assets, and this means that they can be traded, bought, and sold on the open market. By using AI and ML to learn about each player’s preferences and behaviours, developers can create customized in-game items that are tailored to the player’s interests. These items can then be sold to players, either directly by the game developer or through a marketplace, creating a new revenue stream for the game.

Conclusion

Overall, the use of AI and ML is transforming Web3 gaming in numerous ways, and the potential for future innovation in this field is vast. As technology continues to evolve, we can expect to see even more exciting developments in the world of Web3 gaming in the years to come.

Revolutionizing Web3 Gaming with AI & Machine Learning was originally published in Ajuna Network on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

As blockchain technology and decentralized finance (DeFi) continue to evolve, the concept of Web3 has emerged as a new paradigm for the internet. This article explores how Web3 has transformed the gaming industry, from enabling new forms of ownership and monetization to creating more open and accessible gaming experiences for players around the world.

Web3 gaming is one of the most exciting new industries that has already revolutionized gaming experiences, although it has not yet reached its full potential. Web3 gaming is a gaming model based on value exchanges that allows users to own and exchange virtual items and collectibles built on unique digital tokens, cryptocurrencies and NFTs. Through the integration of blockchain technology, NFTs, and Defi into virtual gaming, Web3 games provide a platform where players and game designers can collaborate and take control of their experience.

A report released by DappRadar, a leading provider of decentralized application data, estimates that the Web3 gaming industry will be worth $1 billion by 2025 as the number of players increases rapidly. In addition to its expected growth rate of 9.2% by 2025, the industry is growing at one of the fastest rates globally, growing at 7% annually. In response to the rise of Web3 gaming, the industry is attracting funding from venture capital companies and gaming organizations who have recognized the potential for this sector. This is no different when it comes to mobile gaming.

A new survey reveals developers believe that incorporating Web3 will help them acquire and retain users, which points to them adopting it sooner than later. But the advantages of Web3 games for developers and gamers do not stop there. With blockchain technology, games can provide gamers with actual ownership rights, financial opportunities, and an interactive feedback loop with studios, among other things. No data is tracked or sold to third parties, and everything is encrypted and non-identifying. Web3 concepts such as sovereignty and collaboration also offer gamers the opportunity to maximize the value of their time and effort invested in games.

With that, one might wonder, what does the future look like for Web3 gaming? And will it continue to impact what we know as traditional games? More importantly, will gamers embrace Web3 gaming?

The Future of Web3 Gaming

At this point, we are certain that blockchain technology will undoubtedly play a large role in gaming in the future. In particular, gamers are starting to understand that they should be compensated for their time investment, which is encouraging them to lean towards Web3 games more.

The blockchain has been hailed for its decentralization and ability to eliminate the need for intermediaries in online transactions. Giving people control over their online activities and securing their data on decentralized platforms is an obvious choice for gamers wanting to immerse themselves in games without being tied to their creators.

Another key characteristic of blockchain technology is immutability, which ensures that the network will stand the test of time unaltered. Even though the technology is still in the early stages, it assures creators that they will not have to remodel and rework games just so they can keep them on app markets.

Blockchain entertainment firm Coda Labs conducted a survey targeting game developers and gamers in separate groups to find out what they think about Web3. The results of this survey showed that a majority of the developer survey participants believe Web3 gaming is coming to their firms, with 75% planning on working on Web3 projects in the future. Additionally, over half of those who responded to the survey believe Web3 will revolutionize gaming.

Yet, barriers remain. When asked about the main challenges of Web3 games, players pointed to practical issues, such as not being familiar with the way Web3 games work. People most familiar with Web3 were also concerned about scams and the high costs of participating in Web3 gaming.

It’s undeniable that some things require improvement over time in order to achieve widespread acceptance. However, because Web3 games offer so many benefits, the technology is gradually changing the way we play games, earn points, and take ownership of them much sooner than we expected.

Once Web3 infrastructure catches up to Web2 capabilities, blockchain-based gaming will return to the market with a new face. However, in order for these games to become popular, they will need to build communities of players, which is why they should examine the current bull market for a lesson in how not to communicate.

Now, as we move into the next era of technological advancement, the Metaverse, NFTs, and Digital Asset Organizations (DAOs) are all integral parts of Web3 gaming, but it is the notions of decentralization, privacy, cryptography, and ownership which are attracting the gaming industry to Web3 technologies and opening up new markets.

Tapping Into The Lucrative Web3 Gaming Market

For the players, traditional games are merely costly (yet popular) entertainment options that lose their meaning and value as soon as the game ends or the player quits. Additionally, the in-game items they’ve acquired become completely worthless. That is not to say, however, that the Web2 gaming industry is not worthy of attention, since its global market is larger than movies and music combined and Web3 is already transforming the sector, though it is a long way from reaching its full potential.

Whether it is through the possibility of earning money while playing or providing novel mechanics, companies are using the technology to create new experiences for gamers. Although, transitioning from Web2 to Web3 is not as straightforward as it might sound.

As blockchain technology slowly brings gaming into the Web3 era and offers gamers and players previously unimaginable benefits and opportunities, game components, such as development, financing, distribution, internationalization, and design also change.

While it is true that games built on Web3 are meant to create an environment that allows Web2 developers and players to seamlessly transition to Web3; every day, new trends emerge for the best Web3 games, complicating the decision-making process for creators even further. Nevertheless, as decentralized gaming platforms like Ajuna intervene to facilitate the development and adoption of top-notch decentralized games, it will not be long before the entire gaming industry migrates to them.

Ultimately, game development studios strive to assist game developers in creating excellent blockchain games for the gaming community, a vision that may not be far off.

Web3 is the future of gaming, and it’s here now. Developers seeking to enter the decentralized gaming market can contact our team at Ajuna and develop decentralized games of the highest quality.

Web3 & The Future of Gaming was originally published in Ajuna Network on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

This article explores the benefits and challenges of using blockchain technology in gaming, including topics such as security, ownership, and scalability. It also examines the potential impact of blockchain gaming on the wider gaming industry.

Blockchains gained widespread recognition as a result of their association with cryptocurrencies several years ago. They are responsible for maintaining a decentralized and reliable record of transactions and are a necessity of cryptocurrency systems such as Bitcoin. The technology facilitates trust, guarantees data fidelity, and establishes security without requiring a third party.

Blockchain experts believe gaming will be the first real application of blockchain, revolutionizing video games and transforming them into immersive experiences. Did you know that blockchain gaming activity increased by 2000% in 2022 over 2021? Based on the DappRadar x BGA Games Report, the blockchain games have also managed to attract an estimated 1.22 million unique active wallets (UAW) in March 2022, accounting for 52% of the total blockchain ecosystem activity.

The blockchain-based gaming industry serves as a connecting link, allowing a wider audience to engage with Web3 and crypto through high-quality, decentralized games on the chain. In addition, gaming dApp development continues to grow as the metaverse environment opens up more possibilities for blockchain games to flourish at the same time.

There’s no doubt that blockchain technology is on the rise today, and blockchain gaming is currently the hottest blockchain-related topic. But understanding the advantages and disadvantages of blockchain-based gaming prior to engagement will help you make an educated decision.

Blockchain gaming is an innovative new concept that could improve games by making them safer, more accessible, and letting players manage their assets more easily. But there are risks as well, such as security concerns, technical accessibility, and high costs for entry, so research the topic before diving in.

Advantages of Blockchain Gaming

Recent reports claim that Web3 gaming is the future of gaming and will redefine it by providing players with ownership of gaming assets as well as the power to make decisions, further delegating power away from central authorities. Here are some noteworthy advantages of blockchain gaming.

True Ownership

Players can purchase in-game items or virtual coins in traditional gaming, however, they are typically stored on game developers’ servers.

Instead of storing these assets on the cloud, blockchain gaming uses blockchains, allowing players to truly own and control their assets. With blockchain-based games, your assets are stored on an irreversible and safe ledger, making them impossible to steal or manipulate.

Game Experience Security & Fairness

Blockchain platforms make use of powerful data encryption techniques, like private-public keys, to secure crypto token exchanges. One could say that fairness is built into the blockchain code, and players can expect a trustworthy and protected gaming experience. This element of trust is further enhanced due to the decentralized nature of these games which assures players that their data will not be misused or stolen.

P2E Model Potential

As a result of the play-to-earn models, players have more time to spend in a virtual environment without feeling guilty about what they could be doing to earn money in real life instead. It may still be too early to tell, but the P2E model may also attract some first-time players, growing the customer base and boosting sales, thereby benefiting all parties.

Governance & Control

Blockchain games provide players with a very real and impactful opportunity to vote. As a result of this trend, games have become more interactive in a variety of ways, such as allowing players to design their own characters and plots — and to actually play them. In the event that a majority, or even nearly half, agree that something should be altered in the game, a change will have to be made. In order to accomplish this, many games feature ‘governance’ tokens as a means of giving players control over the game, similar to AJUN being Ajuna’s primary governance token.

Gaming Asset Prices

The blockchain provides the benefit of affordable microtransactions. By doing so, developers are able to sell their power-ups at a low price while still making a profit. The user can also choose the amount they are willing to pay for online gaming.

Interoperability

Many games are available to players, and they naturally have to create separate profiles for each one, but would it not be convenient if profiles were compatible across games? This is yet another area where blockchain gaming technology can be of assistance and allow users to access and purchase different games and items with ease.

Disadvantages of Blockchain Gaming

There is still much we have to learn and change about blockchain technology. In light of this, several kinks still need to be worked out, namely scalability, high initial costs, and accessibility to the general public.

Technical Accessibility

It can be challenging for players to set up crypto wallets and buy crypto, depending on the type of Blockchain game. It is the developer’s user interface and general programming principles that determine the technical accessibility of a blockchain game. A project’s programming paradigms should be easy to learn, and there should preferably be instructions on how to navigate them, just as we have done here for Awesome Ajuna Avatars.

Barriers of Entry

Among the biggest flaws of blockchain gaming, according to MetaMortals (MORT), is the high entry barrier. In many P2E games that use this model, players are required to purchase an NFT before they can begin playing. There are also popular games that will not let players advance unless they spend money. Although players can accumulate digital currencies during gameplay, the time and effort required make it inconvenient for most.

Limited Quality Games

The other potential disadvantage of blockchain games is the low level of playing ability of some players and the limited selection of available games. The crypto gaming industry is still relatively new, so there are fewer experienced players to compete against, and not many games exist yet.

Crypto Tokens Security Risks

Despite the fact that blockchain technology is highly secure, any platform that holds private crypto tokens or Ethereum keys is susceptible to hacking and other malicious activities. It is also difficult to identify and track these users after security breaches or cyberattacks due to the anonymity of blockchain technology.

In conclusion, blockchain technology is nothing short of miraculous. Gamers are ecstatic to explore the world of blockchain gaming and developers find its potential to revolutionize the industry intriguing, to say the least. Even with risks to take into account, the potential benefits make it worth keeping an eye on for the future.

We hope that you found this list informative and if you did, be sure to check other Ajuna edits to stay up to date with the latest news and become a member of Ajuna’s Discord channel to receive project and special event updates.

About Ajuna Network

Ajuna Network is a Switzerland-based decentralized gaming platform bringing blockchain gaming into the mainstream by integrating GameFi functionality with the world’s leading development engines, Unreal and Unity.

In the last few years, we’ve seen NFTs rise up to the top and turn almost every head in the blockchain world. That’s because they represent something so much more than just a simple image; they prove ownership and provide value to the token. One industry, in particular, has already taken NFTs to the next level proving their potential: the gaming industry. We at Ajuna want to play a critical role in building the future of gaming!

Authenticity and Ownership

We’ll start with the most basic use that NFTs have changed in the gaming industry. Starting with a question: Who owns your skins?

Until now, it didn’t matter if you were able to purchase skins through an in-game marketplace, it was always the game developers that controlled how skins worked, and everything remained in their ecosystem. They would release an unlimited amount of the same skin, sell it to the players at a set price, and if the players chose to leave the game, they weren’t getting their money back in any way.

With the introduction of an NFT-based marketplace, we can enable players to realistically own a unique and “one-of-a-kind” in-game asset. The player can authenticate their ownership on the blockchain, an area the developers can’t meddle with. In the few cases where games allowed for an external marketplace, it was difficult to verify who owned an item or where it came from, leading to frequent scams.

Providing ownership to the hands of those invested in the game gives them complete control to buy, sell, use, or trade items in their own way. However, this is just the bare minimum of how NFTs can impact a game’s development. It all comes down to how much a game developer is willing to work with their community.

Enhanced Gameplay

If the game developers work well with their community, they’d be able to enhance and build on gameplay in drastic measures. Let’s use the game “Axie Infinity’’ as a use case. In this game, players collect and breed digital creatures called Axies, which they can then battle against other players. Each Axie has its own unique traits and abilities, making them valuable in the game.

Now the Axie team could have simply thrown in a few digital assets, called them NFTs and turned it into a great marketplace, but the benefits of NFTs in Axie Infinity go beyond just the marketplace. The NFTs themselves can also enhance gameplay by introducing new levels of customization and personalization. Players can breed and create their own unique Axies, which they can then own as NFTs. These NFTs can be used in battles against other players, making them an important part of the gameplay.

This has created a more immersive and engaging gaming experience where players can truly express themselves and make their mark on the gaming world.

Cross-Game Integration

One area in which NFTs have a solidified use case comes with Cross-Game integration. Imagine a world where you can create your own unique NFT Avatar, whether it’s a digital version of who you are or who you aspire to be. Instead of only having this Avatar available on a single platform, a game could choose to use this token type, and tie it to their platform along with many others.

With cross-game integration, NFTs can lead to a more connected and cohesive gaming experience. Until now, there haven’t been many games that have chosen this route. However, as more platforms create a multi-game ecosystem with in-game assets, it’s going to make holding an NFT so much more valuable.

New Revenue Streams

The last point we’ll go over is how NFTs can create and introduce new levels of revenue streams for both players and game developers alike. It will be the developers job to fabricate and introduce unique NFTs into the games ecosystem. As a reward, when players buy and sell these NFTs, the developers have a new revenue stream in the form of royalties.

This is already available in most games, but not as an NFT. So why should developers change their true and tried ecosystem?

Incentive.

Although games like Fortnite and Roblox managed to turn skins into a successful revenue stream, there is a great percentage of players who do not see the value in purchasing these skins.

Adding the incentive for a player to generate their own income revolutionizes revenue possibilities for the game. Players can earn their own NFTs by participating in the game, which will keep them invested; they can then sell their NFTs or trade them as a way to monetize their personal gaming experience.

As seen in multiple NFT platforms that have taken on this model, it’s led to a more sustainable gaming ecosystem.

Overall, NFTs have transformed in-game assets by providing ownership, authenticity, value, and personalization and enhanced gameplay through the use of virtual items. They’ve created a new ecosystem for virtual assets that were not possible before, and as we move forward as a gaming industry, NFTs will play a critical role and continue to revolutionize gaming.

About Ajuna Network

Ajuna Network is a Switzerland-based decentralized gaming platform bringing blockchain gaming into the mainstream by integrating GameFi functionality with the world’s leading development engines, Unreal and Unity. Without community input, the final product may not live up to player expectations. An active player base is crucial for the success of online games, just as a social network needs members to thrive. In addition, games like Minecraft and Roblox prove that gamers are no longer merely passive users, but rather integral parts of the gaming process, which makes communities even more valuable.

With the advancement of digital technologies, perhaps these communities won’t be confined to one platform for much longer and by engaging with their communities through any platform that is convenient for them, members will be able to express their voices more meaningfully. For instance, while Discord serves as the primary gated community hub, Ajuna developers could use GitHub, and site visitors could access Medium.

However, building communities without motivating and rewarding your core audience becomes increasingly challenging. The cost and time involved in breaking through the noise are high. Ajuna’s solution? Using NFTs as community-building access tokens. Indeed, NFTs can provide access to an online community, but only if you already have a user base and a group of project aficionados ready to be molded into one community.

As you can see, Web3 games are not the only ones constantly restructuring and reforming their communities, and popular interests can change as well. However, the human desire to bond over shared interests will always persist. It is for this reason that we consider Access Tokens to be one of the best NFT use cases currently available: they serve as a means to accessing communities, experiences, web games, and items in the Metaverse or in reality.

Considering how many brands and businesses creating Web3 communities today do so by hosting their own server on Discord or Telegram and setting up gated rooms to give their members access to exclusive content, it makes sense to use NFT as an unlocking protocol. This way, their members can also attend community meetups and parties, which contribute to the project’s perceived value.

Ajuna Tokens — Building Blocks of Ajuna Community

It is the combination of community and technology that creates a network. In the absence of the community, Ajuna Network would only exist as code. Thus, Ajuna cultivates a wide community of stakeholders, each with their own characteristics and potential to join the Ajuna Crew.

Furthermore, incentives will be offered to Ajuna Network members who have a history of adding value to the community. As a matter of fact, we take stakeholders and token holders on board from day one, and devs also get to access gated community channels earlier than the rest. However, none of these would have been possible without AJUN and BAJU, two of Ajuna’s tokens.

The AJUN token acts as the Ajuna Network’s main utility token, enabling users to access its services and take part in staking and governance activities. Additionally, owners of AJUN tokens have the power to shape the direction of the Ajuna Network and gaming franchises (one important component of their governance will be determining how Ajuna’s Treasury funds will be used).

Kusama’s corresponding token is called BAJU. The supply and distribution of BAJU’s tokens will be different from current token economic behavior in order to support the network’s distinct objectives and characteristics of fueling the engagement of the community.

Ajuna’s Community Was Initially Founded to Fill a Need

In order to change the status quo, there was a need to get more creative minds behind games to embrace, experiment and ultimately utilize all that blockchain technology can offer. To achieve this, game developers needed a simpler way to integrate blockchain-based assets into their games, and gamers needed to feel like they belong to the game’s community. But that was all before Ajuna Network offered a unique solution that enhanced any blockchain gaming experience independent of its current chain integration.

By bridging gaming ecosystems built on other chains to Ajuna Network, games and markets can access a fully decentralized game engine infrastructure and profit from Ajuna’s functionalities — independent of their initial ecosystem choice.

Ajuna Network is a full-featured, trusted, and secure blockchain, with the sole purpose of providing essential needs and features for gaming. As the network and ecosystems grow, so will the interoperability of Ajuna at different levels: Within its own ecosystems and all games that run on Ajuna, as well as throughout the entire Polkadot ecosystem, and even beyond, thanks to the many multichain interoperability initiatives currently underway with other Layer 1 protocols.

Our growing ecosystem enables game studios to raise funds. In addition, our go-to-market strategy is easy to implement (support fundraising strategy, establish connections with fundraising networks, implement token economics, leverage Ajuna marketing channels, gaming community access, etc.), providing support throughout the project’s lifespan (NFT incentives, limited editions, tournament participation, participation in the community, etc.), ensuring a fast and efficient launch on our ecosystem cycle.

About Ajuna Network

Ajuna Network is a Switzerland-based decentralized gaming platform bringing blockchain gaming into the mainstream by integrating GameFi functionality with the world’s leading development engines, Unreal and Unity. However, what if these concepts were made simpler and more accessible through a gamified approach?

At Ajuna, we believe that the answer lies in transforming the traditional approach to validation and staking by making them more interactive and engaging.

How a Gamified Approach Works

Staking and validation are crucial for a network’s growth and success. However, the lack of user engagement is a common challenge for new networks, as users often find the process of validating transactions and staking tokens overwhelming.

By incorporating a gamified approach, we aim to overcome this challenge by making the process of validation and staking more user-friendly and accessible. By using interactive and engaging elements, such as in-game missions and user avatars, we aim to educate users on the underlying mechanics while making the overall experience more enjoyable and rewarding.

A Gamified Approach to Staking

Imagine a fantasy-themed game where you play as the king who must defend the kingdom from attacks. To build a defensive wall and protect the city, players would need to stake an increasing amount of tokens to progress through different levels, each representing various difficulty levels of staking.

For example, to defend a small village, players would only need to stake a small number of tokens, while to defend the entire kingdom, they would need to stake a large amount. Each time the player successfully defends the city from attack, they earn rewards in the form of virtual currency.

A Gamified Approach to Validation

Continuing with the same example, the city could allow NPCs to enter as a safe haven. However, to enter the city, the player must first check if the NPC is actually who they claim to be and not an enemy trying to infiltrate the city.

Each time the player correctly verifies an NPC, they are given a small reward because the NPC is now paying tax to the player’s government. As the city grows, more NPCs will enter, providing greater rewards in virtual currencies for keeping the city safe.

How Voting can be Rewarding

In addition to validation and staking, another important aspect of blockchain technology is voting. Voting allows players to have a say in the direction and decisions of a network. By having a voice in the decision-making process, players can help shape the future of the network and ensure it aligns with their interests and goals.

In a gamified approach, voting could be integrated into the game itself, allowing players to make important decisions about the future of the network as they progress through levels and earn rewards. For example, players could be asked to vote on which features should be added to the game, or which new games should be developed.

By incorporating voting into a gamified approach, it not only makes the process more engaging and interactive, but also helps players understand the importance of having a say in the governance of the network. This could lead to greater engagement and investment in the network, ultimately benefiting both the players and the network as a whole.

Conclusion

In conclusion, hiding the complexities of validation, staking, and voting behind a gamified approach has the potential to bring mass adoption to the blockchain world. By presenting these concepts in a more engaging and interactive way, it can make it easier and more accessible for users to participate and understand their importance for network security and governance.

By incorporating play2earn metrics and gamifying these processes, it can make the overall experience more enjoyable and rewarding for users, potentially leading to higher levels of engagement and participation in the network. Ultimately, this could lower the entry barriers and make blockchain technology more accessible to the average person, paving the way for wider adoption and growth of the ecosystem.

About Ajuna Network

Ajuna Network is a Switzerland-based decentralized gaming platform bringing blockchain gaming into the mainstream by integrating GameFi functionality with the world’s leading development engines, Unreal and Unity.
