
MARTA also called Museo Taranto Museum is a National Archaeological Museum of Taranto established in 1887. It occupies the same location of the former Convent of Friars Alcantaran grounds in Taranto, Italy. This was a previous judicial prison. MARTA is dedicated to preserving archaeological artefacts since 1887 for the future generation. MARTA does not only house the best collected from the ancient Greek and Roman but also hosts Cultural programs in the present World. The Museum also lends artefacts to other Museum to allow global citizens to enjoy. We are aimed at providing first-hand information to all of our visitors so that they understand Europe’s prehistoric period.
