The PHP Foundation is a collective of people and organizations whose mission is to ensure the prosperity and sustainability of the PHP language. We pay developers to work on the PHP language, but we also plan to expand our support for the entire PHP ecosystem. 

PHP is used by thousands of companies and millions of developers. It powers more than 78% of all the websites whose server-side programming language is known, such as wikipedia.org and wordpress.com.
