FAQs

Find answers to the questions we get asked most often by our users.

Pedesting is aimed at ensuring that all pedestrians—with and without disabilities—can navigate urban environments safely and efficiently.

Our indoor navigation makes it easy for pedestrians to find their way through different environments, whether they’re visiting for the first time or simply trying to avoid confusion. Visitors to current Pedesting Zones like Calgary’s Telus Convention Center frequently use the app to find specific venues and events within the building.

We recognize the disproportionate barriers that people with disabilities often face in everyday life, but also aim to improve access for parents with strollers, people with temporarily limited mobility, and any other kind of pedestrian

Pedesting provides verified data on accessibility features like ramps, elevators, and pedestrian-friendly pathways so that  you can avoid barriers and find the most efficient routes. We also use real-life feedback from our user community to show the building owners on Pedesting how to keep improving accessibility in their spaces and provide them with regular reports.

Yes! Unlike traditional navigation apps, Pedesting provides detailed indoor navigation, helping you move through office buildings, public buildings, educational institutions, and more. We are currently exploring how we can provide a even better experience by providing a more accurate user location when navigating at an indoor location.

Pedesting prioritizes user privacy by employing secure encryption and data protection measures. We never share personal information with third parties, and all location data is anonymized to ensure user safety while providing valuable accessibility insights.

Yes! Pedesting is 100% free for individual users. As part of our commitment to improving access for all pedestrians, we provide access to all app features completely free of charge.

Users can help identify these changes by submitting crowd-sourcing comments through the app, and our team regularly reviews and verifies the information for each of our venue partners to make sure it’s accurate and up-to-date.
