Last To-do App You'll Ever Download
[ What's New in v2.0 ]
Voice capture, calendar sync, Siri, and a focus mode that actually works. All in the same tiny menu bar app.
4-Stage NLP Pipeline
Local tokenizer → date resolver → title cleaner → AI fallback. Complex or multilingual queries route to Apple Intelligence or a lightweight cloud model automatically.
[ Why People Switch and Stay ]
Three seconds
from thought to a task.
No formatting. No dropdowns. No date pickers. Just say what you need to do and walk away.
[ Become a Supporter ]
Built by one developer. Backed by people who get it.
PopTask is free and always will be. Pro exists because some of you want to support what this is becoming.
[ Technically a FAQ Section ]
You ask. I answer.
Built solo, so yes I actually read every question.
What exactly is PopTask?
A to-do app that lives in your Mac menu bar. You type tasks in plain language, speak them, or ask Siri. PopTask figures out the title, the date, the time, and the recurrence automatically. No accounts. No boards. No setup. It just works from the moment you install it.
How smart is the AI really?
Smart enough to understand "gym every tue thu 7:30 n sat morning" and turn it into three recurring tasks with the right schedules. Most inputs resolve on your Mac in under 500ms without touching the internet. For edge cases, Apple Intelligence on macOS 26+ or a lightweight cloud model handles it. You always see a preview before anything gets added.
Which calendars does it sync with?
Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, and Apple Reminders. Two way sync. Complete a task on your phone and PopTask marks it done on your Mac. Microsoft Calendar and Teams calendar are launching soon. Everything works on the free plan up to 4 active tasks.
Is my data secure and where is it stored?
Your tasks never leave your Mac unless you explicitly enable calendar sync to your own accounts. There is no PopTask account, no analytics, no telemetry on task content. Voice audio is processed locally and deleted immediately after transcription. When cloud AI handles a complex input, the text is processed in memory and never logged. I don't want your data. I just want to build a good app.
How does voice input work?
Tap the mic icon and talk. PopTask uses Apple's on device speech framework to transcribe what you said, then feeds it into the same parser that handles typing. "Call dentist Thursday afternoon" becomes a task due Thursday at 2:00 PM. Audio stays on your Mac. Always.
Can I use Siri?
Yes. "Hey Siri, add a task to PopTask" works. Siri hands the text to PopTask's parser and the task appears in your list. You can also build automations with Apple Shortcuts using Add Task, Complete Task, Search, and Snooze actions.
What languages are supported?
Total 9. English, Arabic, Spanish, French, German, Chinese (pinyin), Japanese (romaji), Urdu, and Hindi (Roman). The AI parser understands dates, times, and slang in all of them. The interface is translated into seven. Voice input works in all nine.
Is it really free?
Yes. Free gives you 4 active tasks with every feature included. Voice, calendar sync, Siri, AI breakdown, recurring tasks, all of it. No time limits, no expiring trials. Pro simply removes the 4 task limit so you can add as many as you need. Subscriptions go through the Mac App Store. Cancel whenever you want.
Manage tasks, not tools.
PopTask v2.0 is the last to-do app you'll download. I built it to replace everything else on your menu bar. And it does!
