SharkHack 2026 is a punk-rock inspired hackathon where builders will reclaim technology and create on their own terms, to be loud, bold, and original! This is a space for rebellious ideas, creative experimentation, and people who want to challenge the status quo of tech. Join us to break conventions, build something cool, and prove the future of tech belongs to its makers.
WHAT WE STAND FOR
- Technology that serves communities
- Open doors, beginners belong here and pros.
- Everyone has something to teach and learn
- Being bold and authentic, creating something honest meaningful, and fun
- Mentorship from builders who know what it's like to be in the trenches, but keep going!
Requirements
Tracks:
🎨RIOT IN THE GALLERY
Projects that blend tech with art, music, design, and/or performance. Make something that's fun and inspiring. Art is what keeps people going, brings feeling, allows people to express themselves in a myriad of ways. Take this track and be an artist in any way you've always wanted to be!
🔒OFF-GRID
Privacy, security, and digital autonomy. Build something to take back control of your data and digital life. In today's tech world privacy is something that is constanlty being taken away and exploited. Make something that highlights this right, or shows people just how important it is to keep their digital lives safe.
✊CODE FOR A CAUSE
Activism, civic tech, community. Build something that actually fights for people. The world is full of problems that tech has ignored, underfunded, or made worse. Pick a cause that matters to you and build something for it. Loud and scrappy but useful.
⚡THE ALT
Experiemntal, weird, and completely your own. No rules, no template. If this doesn't fit anywhere else, it fits here. Build the thing you've always wanted to exist but nobody's made yet, or make it better if someone has. This track for ideas outside the box.
