WashU invites students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends to help name the university’s bear mascot.​ ​Organizers are looking for a name that reflects the spirit of WashU and that can represent WashU for years to come.​ The deadline is April 22.

University Services at WashU has announced updates for faculty, staff and students heading into the 2026–27 academic year. Topics include parking permits, WashU ID cards, supply chain management and more.

To kick off carnival season, Thurtene Junior Honorary is hosting a community 5K run/walk at 9 a.m. April 4 on the WashU Danforth Campus. The run starts and finishes at Francis Olympic Field and loops twice around campus.

Last fall, WashU broke ground on the Neil S. Hirsch Center, which will foster a multi-generational community of students, employers and alumni.

The Office of Human Resources is launching an enhanced service model to provide more streamlined and timely support to WashU employees and leaders. The new structure takes effect March 2.

Washington University in St. Louis and University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy announced they have entered into an agreement whereby WashU will assume control of UHSP. UHSP’s central program, the Doctor of Pharmacy, will become WashU’s 10th academic school, to be known as WashU St. Louis College of Pharmacy.

Employee Appreciation Week runs March 2-6 and will include giveaways as well as special discounts offered by businesses around St. Louis.
