Jui-Tse (Ray) Hung

Founder and CEO, Socratic Mind

Ray is the founder of Socratic Mind and a Master’s student in Computer Science at Georgia Tech. Born and raised in Taiwan, Ray went through an education system dominated by standardized assessments. Such experience motivates Ray to work on Socratic Mind, a transformative AI-powered oral assessment platform. Prior to starting Socratic Mind, Ray has been working on large-scale education technology research at Georgia Tech for three years.

Christopher Cui

Computer Science PhD Student, University of California, San Diego

Chris is an incoming PhD student at UC San Diego, advised by Dr. Prithviraj Ammanabrolu, focusing on embodied RL agents and interactive, human-aligned AI systems. Previously, Chris completed his Master’s at Georgia Tech, working with Dr. Thad Starner on EdTools and with Dr. Mark Riedl on RL agents in Text-Adventure Games and Story Generation. Chris’s interests lie in Natural Language Processing and collaborative AI systems that enhance the human experience. Chris envisions a future where AI works alongside humans rather than replacing them.

Jeonghyun (Jonna) Lee

Director of Research in Education Innovation, Georgia Institute of Technology (Center for 21st Century Universities)

Dr. Jonna Lee’s research focuses on how technology facilitates effective learning and student success. She is committed to conducting transformational research to enhance learning experience at all stages of life. Based on her learning science background, her expertise is students’ learning motivation and engagement from behavioral, cognitive, and socio-cognitive perspectives. She holds a PhD in educational psychology from the University of Texas at Austin.

Meryem Yilmaz Soylu

Research Scientist, Georgia Institute of Technology (Center for 21st Century Universities)

Dr. Yilmaz Soylu, a research faculty at Georgia Tech’s Center for 21st-century Universities, is deeply engaged in exploring the intricate interplay of cognitive and motivational factors influencing learning across diverse mediums and age groups, with a strong emphasis on leveraging educational technologies. She holds a Ph.D. in educational psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and earned her master’s in instructional technology from Hacettepe University.

Eunhee Sohn

Assistant Professor, Georgia Institute of Technology (Scheller College of Business)

Dr. Eunhee Sohn is an Assistant Professor in the Strategy and Innovation group at the Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Sohn earned her Ph.D. in Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management, in the Technological Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Management (TIES) group. Her research interests lie in the economics of science and innovation in the context of emerging technologies and industry development.
