Horseman is a Croatian historical drama and love story from 2003. directed by Branko Ivanda, based on the novel by Ivan Aralica.
In mid-eighteenth. Century Southern Europe was divided between the border of the Venetian Republic and Ottoman Empire, the border between Croatia and Bosnia, between Christianity and Islam.
The horseman, a catholic mercenary defending the border, falls in love with Muslim bey’s daughter Leila and they run away from her father, which brings 2 Empires at the brink of war.
