Let’s talk about the retention phase and its importance in orthodontic treatment. We would like to share a clinical case that clearly shows how important this stage is, even when everything seems to go perfectly. The patient completed treatment (15 steps), a good and stable result was achieved, and the case moved to the retention phase. On the photo below, you can see the before and after — the final occlusion based on which the retainers were made. However, one year later, the patient returned. During her pregnancy, she was not able to wear removable retainers, and fixed retainers had not been placed initially. As a result, a relapse occurred and re-treatment was required. This case is another strong argument in favor of a combined retention approach: fixed retainer + night-time wear of a removable retainer. While this approach may make oral hygiene more challenging, it provides greater confidence in the long-term stability of the result. What retention strategy do you usually choose? 👇

What do you do when distalization is the right call, but third molar germs are right in the way? A teenage patient, canine out of the arch, no space. IPR wasn't on the table. Distalization in one quadrant was the plan. But the third molar germ was sitting exactly where the movement needed to go. This is the kind of situation where planning on a panoramic alone isn't enough. You need to see the real boundary, not estimate it. With CBCT integration in 3D Predict, the treatment planner could visualize exactly where the germ was and set the distalization limit precisely at 1mm, strictly up to the germ. Nothing more. The canine found its place in the arch. Controlled movement, clear boundaries, no guessing. CBCT integration doesn't just add detail. It lets you make decisions you otherwise wouldn't feel confident making. Is this a feature you'd use in complex cases like this? 👇

Designing clear aligners isn’t just about creating a transparent tray it’s about predicting movement, precision, and patient outcomes before treatment even begins. With 3D Predict, Mysmartaligners is shifting from reactive orthodontics to predictive planning. By virtually simulating tooth movement, clinicians can visualize each stage of alignment before manufacturing the aligners helping ensure that every step is intentional, controlled, and clinically aligned. Why does predictive planning matter? Studies show that digitally planned orthodontic treatments can reduce mid-course corrections by up to 30–40%, helping clinicians spend less time on refinements and more time on patient care. Virtual treatment simulations also help improve treatment accuracy by 20–25% compared to conventional trial-and-error workflows, especially in mild to moderate alignment cases. For clinics, this translates into: • Fewer refinement cycles • Shorter chair-time per patient • More predictable outcomes • Better patient satisfaction From a patient’s perspective, clear aligner treatments designed with virtual simulation can lead to: • More predictable results • Improved comfort through optimized force application • Reduced overall treatment time by up to 15–20% in many routine cases Traditional aligner workflows rely heavily on assumptions about how teeth will move biologically. With 3D simulation, treatment planning becomes data-informed allowing orthodontists to visualize micro-movements, optimize staging, and design aligners that guide tooth movement more precisely at every step. At Mysmartaligners, the goal is simple: blend digital intelligence with clinical expertise to design aligners that work smarter not harder. The future of orthodontics is not just digital. It’s predictive. It’s precise. And it’s built around better outcomes. 3D Predict #Mysmartaligners #3DPredict #ClearAligners #DigitalOrthodontics #DentalTech #HealthTech #Linkedin #FutureOfDentistry #SmileDesign

Can a junior specialist create a strong treatment plan for a complex case? As part of our internal quality review, we regularly revisit completed cases to evaluate planning decisions and clinical outcomes. One recent case stood out. It was planned by a team member at the very beginning of their career — yet the structure and clinical logic were solid. Initial situation: • Significant crowding • Class II • Crossbite Treatment: • Almost 2 years • Two refinements • Photos from the last refinement stage (final post-treatment photos not always available) This case is a reminder that clear clinical logic and a well-guided process can significantly reduce variability in outcomes — regardless of seniority. How do you ensure consistency in treatment planning within your team?

Close the space or place an implant? 🦷 In the case below, an adult patient had a missing lower incisor and two possible treatment paths. With 3D Predict, the doctor created multiple treatment plan versions and clearly compared the final outcome of each option📊This made the limitations of space closure visible — not just theoretical. Reviewing the alternative “no implant” plan showed clear risks: significant overjet and potential movement of the lower incisor roots outside the alveolar bone, identified through CBCT-based planning. The final plan preserved symmetry, corrected the midline, and prepared the space for the incisor in 30 aligner steps and 2 refinements. Digital planning helps clinicians explain why a treatment path matters.

3D Precise Viewer is now available on phones and tablets! 🎉 The treatment plan can now be shown on a tablet during the appointment or sent via a link to the patient, allowing them to confirm the start of treatment without returning to the clinic. With the Viewer, you or your doctor can: • View the plan from any angle and rotate the model freely • Turn on the grid to quickly check symmetry • Check mesio-distal tooth size • Check occlusal contacts on both jaws at every treatment stage • Toggle attachments, IPR and spaces to review the plan without visual noise • In CBCT cases, switch between bone and crown view • Use Superimposition mode to track treatment progress Want to try it with your next case? 🚀 https://lnkd.in/ex5UTW-9

One of the biggest fears patients have about orthodontic treatment is 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 ⏳ Many have seen cases stretch on for years — and that uncertainty often holds patients back. With proper digital planning, treatment can be far more predictable. In one recent 3D Predict case, visible improvement was achieved in just 𝟱 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟭𝟴 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀, correcting both anterior and posterior crossbite. Even at this stage, the results were already clear to the patient. Further occlusal refinement is planned using additional appliances such as buttons and elastics. When used correctly, these tools improve predictability and help avoid unnecessary delays. 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. ✨ Curious how digital workflows can help?
