  • We’re proud to be a Gold Sponsor at #Lifesavers2026! Keeping students safe on the road takes consistent effort and strong partnerships. We’re looking forward to hearing how communities are approaching this work and what’s driving change across communities. If you’re attending, come find us at booth 514 and say hello!

  • April is #DistractedDrivingAwarenessMonth. When a school bus stops and the red lights are flashing, there is no margin for distraction. A quick glance at your phone is all it takes to miss the signal and put a child at risk. And it happens more often than most people realize. Millions of illegal passings occur each year, often tied to moments of distraction where drivers fail to react in time.  🔗 Staying focused behind the wheel is one of the simplest ways to protect students when they need it most. Check out our blog to better understand the risks and what drivers should do when a bus stops @ https://lnkd.in/guhjwfVC

3,000+ law enforcement leaders in one place, all focused on the future of innovation in public safety. That’s what made being in Nashville for Axon Week 2026 so meaningful. • Florida’s school bus safety footprint keeps growing! 👏 We’re proud to partner with Duval County Public Schools to bring a full-fleet school bus safety program to the district starting May 1, helping protect students every time they get on or off the bus. More than 900 buses will be equipped, reaching 30,000+ student riders across Duval County. That kind of coverage establishes consistency across every route and helps set clear expectations for drivers on the road. Thank you to the district, the school district police department, Student Transportation of America and Durham School Services for helping make this program possible and for your shared commitment to student safety. • Our team is excited to be in Nashville for #AxonWeek2026! Looking forward to connecting with the agencies and leaders driving real innovation to make communities safer.

Long before I was talking about AI on school buses, I stood in front of cameras and community members for 20 years as a law enforcement and government leader, navigating major community issues and delivering public safety briefings with a single goal: providing a clear understanding of how we are improving safety while maintaining that sacred trust. That experience is top of mind as I head to #AxonWeek26 in Nashville. In a country with hundreds of thousands of school buses on the road every day, the ride to and from school is still one of the most under-protected parts of a child’s day. At BusPatrol, we are helping to change that by equipping fleets with AI-powered technology that turns every bus into part of the real-time public safety infrastructure. This is a game changer for law enforcement by enhancing their situational awareness in real-time, providing objective evidence that supports due process, and helping agencies shift from reactive enforcement to proactive prevention. We are proud to be a public safety partner to hundreds of communities across the country and join in the mission to make the journey safer for children every day.#AxonWeek26. 🇺🇸 #Axon #PublicSafety #SchoolBusSafety #GovTech

  • In Suffolk County, illegal school bus passings dropped nearly 12 percent in 2025. With automated stop-arm enforcement in place, violations are consistently captured and enforced, leading to real change in how drivers respond. “These numbers reveal a powerful story,” Ryan Monell, our Executive Vice President of Government Operations explains. “Every violation that doesn’t happen is the prevention of a potential tragedy. This reduction is not just a statistic. It represents thousands of decisions made by drivers who stopped, allowing students to cross the street without risk.” 🔗 Read the full story @ https://lnkd.in/eBwT7ChY

  • We love seeing Albany County take this step. 👏 Using BusPatrol program funding to support solutions like Edia shows how school bus safety can help fund broader investments in student safety and wellbeing.   This is what the next era of student safety looks like. Communities using data and innovation to close gaps, support student health, reduce absenteeism, and better serve students throughout the school day.

Announcement to my New York network: Albany County, NY just launched a countywide pilot program with Edia — tackling chronic absenteeism across all districts. "With an average unexcused absence rate of ~26% across 12 public school districts — over 9,000 chronically absent students — county and district leaders knew they needed a new approach." As RCS Superintendent Craig Chandler put it: if we want different results, we need to try doing things differently. Edia's AI AI-Powered Attendance Solution automates two-way family outreach within minutes of an absence, helps uncover root causes, and gives school teams the tools to intervene early — before absenteeism becomes a pattern. Albany County, NY is backing the initiative with gap funding from BusPatrol revenues, and through this initiative, these data-driven resources are now available to every district in the Capitol Region. • We’re continuing to expand across Michigan, and Grand Rapids is the latest community taking action to protect students on their way to and from school. We’re proud to launch a new stop-arm safety program in partnership with Grand Rapids Public SchoolsDean Transportation, the Grand Rapids Police Department, and the City of Grand Rapids. Every GRPS school bus will be equipped with stop-arm cameras at no cost to the district. With more than 2,000 illegal passings happening across the state each day, this is about changing behavior and creating safer conditions for students every time they get on or off the bus. Thank you to our partners in Grand Rapids for stepping up and leading this work locally. Programs like this only move forward when communities decide to act.

  • STN East, we’re on our way! 🚍 We’ll be in North Carolina on March 30 at booth #209, joining school transportation leaders, advocates, and community partners focused on making the trip to and from school safer. Spending time with the people responsible for student transportation gives us a clearer understanding of what’s happening on and around the bus and what it takes to respond to it effectively. If you’ll be there, come meet the BusPatrol team! We’re looking forward to meeting new faces, making new connections, and hearing how this work is taking shape in your community. 🔗 More info: https://lnkd.in/eqbYyFUW School Transportation News #STNEAST #SchoolTransportation
