This week we hosted industry leaders from across the spectrum of AI work to speak to Capital One associates at our first annual AI Symposium. Learn how we're at the frontier of AI for financial services: i.capitalone.com/J2dRBugB5
What an incredible time hosting our 2026 Capital One AI Symposium! Our first annual gathering brought together academics, tech industry leaders, and AI startups to explore the toughest challenges and emerging solutions that will move us into the next wave of AI. Day one, our Academic Summit, was packed with fascinating talks and discussions with leading researchers across our partner institutions and our team. We explored how human-AI collaboration, planning, and trust are foundational to the next frontier and how emerging spaces like quantum and multisector partnership models are inspiring future pathways. On day two, our Frontier Forum, we turned to autonomous agency in industry, the enterprise, and real-world deployment. We kicked the day off with the brilliand and always insightful Jason Furman presenting his perspectives on the profound and wide ranging implications of frontier AI, and we then moved to core infrastructure and open source modeling advances, agentic coding and the research behind tools like Claude Code, and new research on world models. We ended with interactive talks and demos from startups at the forefront of AI measurement and impact, agentic web systems, and voice and conversational advances. What was clear over these two days is that there's not a separation of academic theory and industry practice, but a continuous loop of collaboration, idea exchange, and knowledge building. Our Symposium was created on the belief that to advance AI responsibly and effectively, we must foster deep connections between the scientific research community and our partners, cutting-edge startups, and Capital One's own AIML, data science, technology, and VC teams and partners. I'm inspired by the folks who joined us and the conversations these days have stimulated – and can't wait to see what we will continue to build together for Capital One, our customers, for our nation, and beyond. Huge thanks to our amazing university partner speakers from Columbia, USC, UIUC, UNC, Brown, and others for sharing their thought-provoking research and insights.
