I was lucky to lead my team’s involvement in Hockey Day last year, building our fundraising team and playing hockey with others committed to a shared purpose. Since joining, my team has raised over $100,000, something I’m incredibly proud of, especially when I hear how it’s changed lives for the better. L’ équipe CIBC est profondément attristée par la tragédie dévastatrice survenue à Tumbler Ridge et qui a coûté la vie à des personnes innocentes, dont de nombreux enfants. Nos pensées accompagnent les familles qui ont perdu des êtres chers et toutes les personnes qui ont été touchées par cet acte insensé. Il est difficile de mesurer la douleur que ressent cette communauté. La Colombie-Britannique abrite de nombreux membres de l’équipe CIBC. Ayant grandi à Vancouver, je sais à quel point les nombreuses petites collectivités de la province sont étroitement liées. Nous nous unissons à tous dans la douleur et la solidarité. Pour aider les personnes touchées et contribuer aux efforts de rétablissement, la Banque CIBC fait un don de 100 000 $ au Fonds de secours d’urgence pour la Colombie-Britannique de la Fondation CIBC pour offrir une aide immédiate et continue. 

Across our CIBC team, we are deeply saddened by the devastating tragedy in Tumbler Ridge that has taken the lives of innocent people, many of them children. Our thoughts are with the families who have lost loved ones, and with everyone who has been affected by this senseless act. It is difficult to comprehend the pain this community is experiencing. British Columbia is home to many CIBC team members. Having grown up in Vancouver, I know how tightly knit the many small communities across the province are. We stand beside them in grief and in solidarity. To assist those impacted and contribute to recovery efforts, CIBC is donating $100,000 to the CIBC Foundation British Columbia Emergency Relief Fund to provide immediate and ongoing support.
