We’re proud to support the important work of Minnesota Elder Justice Center as a sponsor of the 2026 Minnesota World Elder Abuse Awareness Conference. Elder abuse is an issue that often goes unseen, yet it impacts thousands of older adults, families, and communities every year. Events like this conference bring together advocates, professionals, and community members to raise awareness, share knowledge, and strengthen prevention efforts across Minnesota. At Cinch Web Services, we value the opportunity to stand behind organizations that are making a meaningful difference. We’re grateful to play a small part in supporting this mission and the conversations that help protect and empower older adults. https://lnkd.in/gEZAutXa

We launched a new version of the Cinch website a few weeks ago, but it wasn't just a cosmetic redesign. We rethought the service. After years of separating hosting and support, we took a hard look at what causes friction for business owners — and simplified. We now have two clear paths: Fully Managed (hosting + support) and Support Only (for businesses that already have solid hosting but need expert WordPress help). The full story is in the blog post. Worth a read if you run a WordPress site and want to understand what "managed" should actually mean. https://lnkd.in/gcX4j6ju

We kept getting calls about furnace warranties. Turns out there’s a very large home services company with a logo suspiciously close to ours. After years of redirecting confused customers, we we took the opportunity to sharpen the brand. Cinch is our managed WordPress hosting and support platform focused on performance, security, updates, and keeping business websites running without drama. The new mark reflects that: cleaner geometry, stronger presence, and a clearer distinction from anything involving HVAC. Full story here: https://lnkd.in/g4jnMA6w

Cinch's customer, and cyber security expert, Michael Ubaldini published an excellent article on strong passwords and authentication. Weak passwords are the number 1 reason Wordpress sites are compromised. Check out his guide :) https://lnkd.in/dG3FfEme

Ever get a 403 error on your own site — and not know why? That happened to us this week, on our own site! To the rest of the world, the site was running fine, but internally we were having issues. WP Cron was broken, the connection to our site management software was throwing 403 errors... all signs pointed to a server config issue... except that it wasn’t. Turns out, a plugin we trust (Blogvault) had silently blocked requests from our own dashboard. The fix? Dig through firewall logs, whitelist the server IP, and everything came back online. Lesson: Not all 403s are what they seem — sometimes the problem lives inside WordPress. We just published the full fix log as part of our new “Solutions” series → (link in comments)
