We want to take the opportunity to wish you all a happy International Women’s Day. It is a special day of the year, highlighting women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements whilst drawing attention to critical issues. But instead of only marking the day today, we want to focus on things that we are doing all year round to improve gender equality in tech. Firstly, our industry initiatives in Slovenia and the Netherlands see us work with peers to encourage more women to enter STEM education and stay within the industry.  While the pipeline of female STEM graduates has expanded to 30-40% across Europe, data shows that within ICT and Managed Services, only 20-25% of young professionals aged between 25 and 35 are female. To try to help reduce this trend, we are making an effort to attract diverse talent. With a tendency for women to underplay their achievements, we make sure to screen each and every relevant CV even when they do not fulfil all our requirements. Our hiring managers are also educated in using inclusive language in their job ads and interviews, as well as taking part in diversity training. This is, of course, ongoing work, but we will continue to try to improve gender equality in our company and the wider sector.
