This year’s Earth Day theme, "Our Power, Our Planet," reminds us that the choices we make every day shape the future of our world. Protecting our environment means turning commitments into actions that reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency, and create a cleaner, healthier planet for generations to come. One of the most impactful actions is electrification. By harnessing renewable energy from solar, wind, and hydropower, we can reduce reliance on fossil fuels and cut final energy use by up to 40%. At Danfoss, we have been committed to sustainability since 1933, developing solutions that enable smarter energy use and accelerate the clean energy transition. Did you know that AI can improve grid reliability and cut emissions? AI is often seen as a growing pressure on our energy systems. But what if it’s also part of the solution? AI can already strengthen grid reliability by acting as a grid-balancing tool, reducing localized outage durations by 30–50% through early fault detection. But none of this happens without data centers. That makes how we design and integrate them critical to unlocking their full value. Innovation is alive at Danfoss! Race to the Moon is our global innovation competition, and this year it has once again shown the incredible creativity and entrepreneurial spirit across our organization. With hundreds of ideas and months of inspired collaboration, nearly 250 teams made up of colleagues from across the globe worked together to turn bold ideas into solutions with real potential. This year’s competition was focused on amplifying with AI, a theme that connects directly to our LEAP 2030 strategy. With our strong digital backbone, high data quality, and automation, we can apply AI seamlessly where it creates real value — enhancing speed, accuracy, and relevance to improve the customer experience and productivity. From early ideas to proof-of-concepts tested in the market, the energy, engagement, and teamwork have been truly inspiring. It proves that innovation thrives when we share ideas, challenge ourselves, and act fast. Ejner Kobbero Andersen from the winning team said: “Race to the Moon has been an amazing process. It pushed us to crystalize complex ideas into clear messages and inspired us through the innovation from other teams.” Congratulations to all the outstanding participants! We look forward to seeing your ideas develop further in the coming months.

AI and digital services are accelerating demand for data centers — and with it, the need for smarter, more efficient solutions. With the right technologies and planning, data centers can become key enablers of flexibility, integration, and security. 1. Boosting energy savings Efficient technologies can help data centers cut energy use with short payback times. 2. Turning waste heat into a resource Nearly every kilowatt used in a data center becomes heat. With the right planning, much of the heat that is wasted today can be captured and reused. 3. Supporting the energy grid If data centers are well integrated, they can become a key part of our energy system. They can lower costs, increase competitiveness, and strengthen energy security. The solutions already exist. What’s needed now is a focus on efficiency, heat reuse, and integrated planning of data centers. Today, we launched our new Data Center Impact Paper together with customers, partners, and industry experts at the Royal Danish Embassy in Beijing. As part of China Development Forum 2026, our President & CEO Kim Fausing joined discussions on how the rapid growth of AI and digital infrastructure is reshaping global energy demand. At the event, we explored how data centers can move from being a growing electricity and water consumer to becoming flexible, efficient, and fully integrated assets in future energy systems. - The Impact Paper highlights three key opportunities: - Higher efficiency through advanced cooling and optimized operations - Greater grid flexibility to support renewable energy integration - Local energy integration, including utilizing waste heat to serve surrounding communities and businesses These opportunities reflect a shared ambition: Data centers can play a positive and strategic role in the energy transition — if designed correctly. A warm thank you to our speakers and panelists, and the many customers who joined us today for valuable dialogue and collaboration. We look forward to continuing our partnership to build smarter, more resilient, and more sustainable data centers in China and beyond.
