One of the most unique parts of DjangoCon US is the sprints. Sprints are a chance to collaborate on open-source projects, contribute to Django itself, and work alongside others in the community. Whether you're new to contributing or have experience, there are opportunities to get involved, learn, and make an impact. DjangoCon US isn’t just about talks, it’s also about building together. https://2026.djangocon.us

Each year, DjangoCon US brings together the people who build, maintain, and use Django. The week includes practical, real-world talks, hands-on workshops for deeper learning, and sprints focused on open-source contribution. Just as important are the conversations that continue beyond the sessions. It’s not just about attending, it’s about being part of the Django community. Planning ahead can help make the experience smoother, especially when it comes to travel and accommodation. More details: https://2026.djangocon.us

DjangoCon US 2026 is Moving to August! We have an important update for everyone planning to join us in Chicago: DjangoCon US 2026 is moving to the week of August 24. A very large conference is taking place in Chicago the week of September 14, causing hotel prices near our venue to skyrocket — we're talking over $400 per night for nearby hotels. That's not the kind of experience we want for our community. By shifting to late August, we can keep costs much more affordable for our attendees. On the bright side, August in Chicago means summer is still in full swing — and Lake Michigan might even be warm enough for those of you who'd like to take a morning swim before the talks begin! Updated Schedule Monday, August 24 – Wednesday, August 26: Talks Thursday, August 27 – Friday, August 28: Sprints Already Made Travel Plans? We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this causes anyone who has already started making arrangements. We know schedule changes aren't ideal, and we wouldn't make this move if we didn't believe it was the right call for the community. We're still at the same great venue — the voco Chicago Downtown — and we can't wait to see you there. We look forward to seeing you in Chicago this August! Image credit: Bartek Pawlik
