Today at Evil Geniuses we hosted Free for All — the LARGEST Minecraft Speedrun Tournament EVER! 🤯 Our Twitch clocked in a solid 3k concurrent viewers and the broadcast across the Twitch Minecraft community brought that number up to ~30k concurrent viewers all day — all organically. We had over 1,000 competitors sign up across NA and EU, and at one point over 500 1v1 speed runs were happening across our server. This is just the short list of wins! 🏆 When we signed Couriway as a Creator back in January and he shared his idea of an event that approached Minecraft more like an esport I immediately understood the vision and our opportunity. At EG we’ve always wanted to flip the script on what it means to be a competitive gamer. We’ve historically done that by building an inclusive community and brand, now we continue to do this while finding competitive ways to flip the script further — the question now is how much further will we take it!? 👀 Huge thank you to Couriway and the incredible cast of commentators, competitors and staff assembled behind the scenes that worked endlessly to pull it off. You all are masters in your craft and I am amazed by what you do everyday! Lastly, shouts to our friends at Minecraft and the insanely talented team at EG — Drew A., Jayce Keller, Victoria Sun, Chris DeAppolonio, and many others, thank you for supporting the vision and making all of this come to life! 💜 #minecraft #esports #gaming
