Full Day 1 recap at Talent-Network, Talent Land Mexico City and we are still feeling it. We met so many incredible developers who signed up for the platform, asked real questions about breaking into tech, and just wanted to connect. 🤝🏼 Briana Holmes took the stage and reminded a packed room why showing up in person changes everything for your career. And then we closed the night out with our community dinner at Lavo. 🍽️ This is what it looks like when the community goes from URL to IRL. 🌎 #TalentLand2026 #community #techcareers

This week on Guidance Counselor 2.0, taylor desseyn sits down with David McCarter and we are genuinely so excited for this one. David is a Microsoft MVP, solutions architect, and software engineer with over 28 years of experience. He has also jammed with bands like Queensryche and Buckcherry, which tells you everything you need to know about the kind of energy he brings to a room. And then there is the book. Rock Your Career: Surviving the Technical Interview is now in its 7th edition. Not a tweet. Not a newsletter. A book that has gone through seven editions because it actually works and developers keep coming back to it. We are so proud to have David on the show. Do not miss this one. 📅 April 21st · 10:30am EST 🔗 RSVP → https://luma.com/636a7bwi #techinterview #careerdevelopment #softwareengineering

We are heading to Santiago, Chile for Nerdearla Chile April 16 to 18 and we could not be more excited to bring the Torc community to Latin America again. 🇨🇱 Nerdearla is where big ideas happen, but the best conversations always take place off stage. So we are carving out time for exactly that. Come find us at our booth during the conference and then stay for our Community Meetup on Friday April 17th. Meet new people, talk without an agenda, and see what sparks when the right people are in the same room. Oh yeah, light bites on us. The rest is just a reason to stick around. 📅 Friday, April 17 · 8:00 PM GMT-4 📍 Tres Valles Restaurant Lastarria · Santiago #nerdearla #nerdearlaChile #techcommunity #developerlife

We’re expanding our community! We’ve started bringing more creatives into the mix alongside the engineers and developers already here. You’ll start seeing more on the community hub... blog posts, videos, articles, and more ways people are sharing what they’re building. Same community. Just more ways to experience it. We’re building something that reflects the full range of the people in this space and we're so glad that you’re a big part of that.

"Tell me about yourself." Four words. And most people lose the interview right there! Not because they are unqualified. Not because they are nervous. But because nobody ever told them what a good answer actually sounds like. taylor desseyn just broke it all the way down in this video and it is one of the most practical things we have posted all year. Here is what most people get wrong.... They go way too long. Your answer should be closer to 45 seconds than a full career autobiography. They give the same answer to every interviewer. Your response should be tailored to the specific role and context every single time. They forget the human part. A well-placed personal detail or hobby can actually help you stand out. But most people either skip it entirely or overshare. The goal is not to recite your resume. The goal is to open a real conversation. If you have an interview coming up or just want to sharpen how you show up, watch this one before you walk into that room. 👉🏼 https://lnkd.in/e8_-MTdC #interviewtips #jobsearch #techcareers #careeradvice
