🔐 IT/OT convergence is forcing organizations to rethink security at a fundamental level. In Security Review Magazine, Irina Zinovkina, Head of Information Security Analytics Research at Positive Technologies, maps the rapid shift as industrial environments move from isolated OT systems to deeply interconnected IT/OT ecosystems. That convergence speeds up operations and opens new possibilities. It also means reconciling two security philosophies that were never designed to coexist. Dig into the highlights in the cards below. 👇

Most cybersecurity conversations start with threats. Results-driven cybersecurity starts with something else: business impact. A simple equation helps frame it: Cybersecurity budget + losses from cyber incidents = total security costs. The real question for leadership is straightforward. Which cyber scenarios would have the biggest impact on your business? These are what we call non-tolerable events (NTEs): 🏦 funds stolen from corporate accounts 🔎 customer data exposed 💰 online banking unavailable for hours ❌ transactions disrupted Every organization defines them differently. Once these scenarios are clear, security investment becomes easier to prioritize, focusing on the risks that matter most for the business. In the end, cybersecurity is less about reacting to threats and more about protecting what the business truly depends on. Behind the anonymity of dark web forums lies a surprisingly structured ecosystem. Many of these platforms operate within networks such as Tor and rely on multilayer infrastructures that include mirrors, proxies, and custom-built engines. Combined with anti-bot protections and strict operational security, this makes monitoring and infiltration significantly more difficult. But the real foundation of these markets is trust. Reputation systems, escrow services, vendor verification, and moderation allow anonymous actors to trade stolen data, share attack techniques, and coordinate operations. Our PT Cyber Analytics team analyzed the architecture, protection mechanisms, and economic models behind dark web forums to understand how these ecosystems evolve. This shows that destroying infrastructure alone will not lead to success in the fight against cybercrime unless trust mechanisms are taken into account. You knew you shouldn't scan it. You did it anyway. This is exactly why QR phishing works. That code could be hiding: • a fake login page • a malware download • cloaked redirect chain And the worst part? You chose to trust it. We're not saying don't scan QR codes. We're saying treat them like links. 👉 If you wouldn't click it, don't scan it. P.S. If you want to be completely immune to phishing, check this research below: https://lnkd.in/e2rP7W_Q
