PyCon PL and the PyPoznań community are officially teaming up with the iconic P.I.W.O. (Poznań Free Software Fest / Poznańska Impreza Wolnego Oprogramowania) for its jubilee 15th edition! For those who aren't aware - P.I.W.O. is a conference similar in spirit to FOSDEM, but on a much smaller scale (though there are big plans for the coming years!). Happening in Poznań, it offers content in both English and Polish. For the first time, one of the event’s tracks will be 100% dedicated to Python. If you are a fan of Python and a believer in Open Source, this is your stage. 📅 Event Details: When: May 30th, 2026 (Saturday) Where: Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, AMU (Morasko Campus), Poznań Format: In-person talks (live-streamed & recorded) and interactive workshops in computer labs. 🔍 What are we looking for? We are seeking talk and workshop proposals that showcase Python within the Free, Libre, and Open Source Software (FLOSS) ecosystem. Mamy dla Was świetne wieści! Pierwszego dnia tegorocznej Sesji Linuksowej 🐧 we Wrocławiu 🧙♂️ pojawi się dedykowana ścieżka Python 🐍, organizowana przez PyCon PL i wrocpy. Właśnie ruszyło CFP 📢, które potrwa do 5 kwietnia. Przyjmujemy propozycje prelekcji (trwających od 30 do 60 min) o różnym stopniu zaawansowania - od tematów dla początkujących po eksperckie rozkminy. Korzystając z okazji, zachęcamy też do udziału w całej jubileuszowej 20. Sesji Linuksowej na Politechnika Wrocławska. To najstarsza aktywna linuksowa konferencja w Polsce z bezpłatnym uczestnictwem❗ Z tego, co wiemy, agenda będzie w tym roku wyjątkowo mocna, więc już teraz gorąco polecamy zarezerwować sobie czas na cały weekend 25-26 kwietnia. ℹ️ Oświadczenie zespołu organizacyjnego PyCon PL Z dużą satysfakcją obserwujemy, że Polska staje się kluczowym punktem na mapie globalnej społeczności Pythona. Ogłoszenie EuroPython 2026 w Krakowie to wielkie wyróżnienie dla naszego kraju. Jako organizatorzy konferencji, która od blisko dwóch dekad jest tworzona oddolnie przez członków społeczności języka Python, czujemy się jednak zobowiązani zwrócić uwagę na wyzwania, jakie niesie ze sobą ta decyzja. Zależy nam na przejrzystości, dlatego chcemy podzielić się naszymi obawami: 📍 Decyzja o wyborze daty i lokalizacji zapadła bez konsultacji z kluczowymi lokalnymi grupami, w tym z organizatorami PyCon PL i stowarzyszeniem PyPolska. Wierzymy, że fundamentem dużych wydarzeń powinna być współpraca z lokalnym ekosystemem. O dacie i miejscu wydarzenia nie dowiedzieliśmy się oficjalnie od organizatorów Europythona, a ze strony wydarzenia. 📅 Oba wydarzenia dzieli zaledwie 5 tygodni. To stawia członków społeczności, prelegentów i partnerów przed bardzo trudnym wyborem logistycznym i finansowym. Już teraz otrzymujemy sygnały od uczestników, którzy ze względu na bliskość obu dat muszą rezygnować z udziału w jednym z wydarzeń. 🤝 Chcemy podkreślić, że od dłuższego czasu staramy się nawiązać merytoryczny kontakt z EuroPython Society. Zaproponowaliśmy mediację – opcjonalną ścieżkę sugerowaną nam przez Python Software Foundation (PSF) – aby wspólnie znaleźć rozwiązanie korzystne dla wszystkich stron. Liczymy na to, że taki dialog zostanie poważnie podjęty. Naszym priorytetem pozostaje długofalowy rozwój polskiej społeczności i dbałość o to, by PyCon PL pozostawał dostępnym i integrującym wydarzeniem. Wierzymy, że rozmowa o tych wyzwaniach pozwoli nam wszystkim budować lepsze środowisko dla Pythona w Polsce i Europie. #Python #PyCon #PyPolska #Community
