We've been tracking global sleep health for years. This year, something shifted. For the first time, more people rank sleep as their most important health behavior in our Global Sleep Survey — above diet, above exercise. And yet, more than half of those same people say they aren't sleeping well. That gap is exactly what we're exploring in a new LinkedIn Live series. Not just to present data, but to bring in leading experts to unpack what's driving the state of sleep, what it means for people and their health, and what needs to change. Join us for our first session with Resmed’s Chief Medical Officer Carlos Nunez and Sleep Health Foundation CEO and psychologist Moira Junge as they break down the 2026 Resmed Global Sleep Survey live, revealing global patterns we should not ignore. Future sessions will go deeper into other key themes like the rise of wearables and women’s health. Women face a perfect storm when it comes to sleep: hormonal shifts, workplace stress and social demands collide. And yet many are told with "that's just how it is." The reality? With today's treatment options, there's no reason to keep suffering. In the latest episode of "In Bed With," behavioral sleep psychologist Dr. Shelby Harris and sleep physician Cheri D. Mah, MD, MS, discuss: → Why sleep disorders manifest differently in women → The stigma preventing women from seeking help → How to have a productive conversation with your healthcare provider Full episode coming soon! 1 Resmed, "Resmed's 2025 Global Sleep Survey". A pivotal moment for AI and medical technologies: Yesterday, Resmed took part in a high-level roundtable hosted by the European Business Summits on “Medical Devices, AI and Digital Health: Between Safety and Competitiveness.” The discussion brought together EU policymakers and industry leaders to reflect on a key question: How can Europe foster innovation and global competitiveness for the medical devices sector while also ensuring patient safety and trust? Our key message was: Regulatory coherence is critical. Aligning the AI Act with the MDR/IVDR framework, particularly by streamlining requirements for AI-enabled medical devices, could significantly reduce complexity and legal uncertainty, and more importantly, enable equitable access and innovative solutions for patients. This exchange with the European Commission DG SANTE’s Rainer Becker and Nada Alkhayat and Member State officials from Germany and the Netherlands came at a critical time as the negotiations on the AI Omnibus are concluding and the legislative process on the MDR/IVDR’s Targeted Revision is commencing. If done right, these simplification efforts have the potential to create more predictable pathways to market for medical technologies while maintaining high safety standards. It is time for EU policymakers to deliver a consistent, proportionate, and workable regulatory environment that supports both innovation and patient access. This will ensure that Europe remains a global leader in trustworthy medtech innovation! We look forward to continuing the conversation and collaboration as the legislative process progresses on these two critical files for digital health and AI. 🤝 Justine Vandenbosch, Greg Dunkelberger #MedTech #AI #DigitalHealth #MDR #IVDR #Healthcare #Innovation

GLP-1 medications are reshaping more than weight management. They’re starting conversations between patients and healthcare providers about other health conditions too, including obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). At the recent The Australian Financial Review Healthcare Summit held in Sydney, our CEO, Michael "Mick" Farrell, highlighted what makes this shift possible. As more people consult their physicians, there are more opportunities to engage with them about OSA and guide them toward the proven gold standard treatment for OSA, CPAP therapy. For hundreds of millions of people with undiagnosed sleep apnea worldwide, this shift can help address the gap in OSA diagnosis and treatment – changing the trajectory of their health. #SleepHealth #SleepApnea #MedTech #GLP1s

At Resmed, connection starts with conversation. Our People Experience team recently launched 'Unplug with PX: In Step with Leadership' in our San Diego office — creating space for meaningful dialogue and shared learning. In February, Resmedians joined Carlos Nunez, Chief Medical Officer, for a walk and talk around campus. Together, they exchanged ideas, built new connections, and explored what leadership looks like in action. This month, we continued the series with Michael "Mick" Farrell, CEO — opening the door to even more perspectives, conversations, and moments that bring us closer as a community. These moments help bring our mission to life — fostering well-being, strengthening relationships, and supporting each other in reaching our full potential. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and look forward to what’s ahead. #TeamResmed #PeopleExperience #LeadershipInAction #BetterTogether

What role should government play in accelerating health technology innovation? It’s a question that shaped important conversations at the Australian Parliament Innovation Showcase, and one that deserves more than a passive answer. At Resmed, we see every day how connected devices and digital health are transforming care. People are managing sleep and breathing conditions at home, improving outcomes while reducing pressure on the healthcare system. That’s not future potential, it’s happening now. At the showcase, that impact came to life. Policymakers engaged with what’s possible when innovation meets real-world care. People shared how therapy has improved their quality of life. And one thing became clear: we’re still underestimating both the scale, and the opportunity, of digital health. Australia has world-class innovation. The opportunity now is to ensure more of that value is realized locally, from development through to adoption and scale. There’s encouraging momentum. A new generation of leaders is stepping forward with experience across healthcare and technology, and a clear understanding that meaningful progress requires urgency and collaboration. Now, it’s about ensuring policy keeps pace with innovation, so more people can reach their full potential through better care at home. #DigitalHealth #HealthTech #Innovation #HealthcareTransformation #ConnectedCare #SleepHealth #RespiratoryCare #Policy #FutureOfHealth #Australia

Women’s sleep apnea symptoms are often overlooked. Raising awareness and improving care can help close the gap. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gsazr6Rc
Women’s sleep symptoms are often overlooked in clinical practice. How can we do better? For example, women’s symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea are often overlooked: persistent fatigue, morning headaches, insomnia, depression, and anxiety. In a contributed article with Audrey Wells, MD, we outline exactly why paying attention to women’s unique sleep symptoms is important – and how coordinated care, alongside clinical and digital tools, can improve outcomes for all of us (women and those who love them).
