Jessica Hische will be joining on us at Type Drives Commerce!! Come listen THIS Friday, March 13th, at Fordham University at Lincoln Center! Registation link and full lineup: https://lnkd.in/e9iHcK_Y She kicks off the afternoon session with a tailored keynote, Creativity in the Age of AI: AI can generate images, set type, and mimic styles in seconds — so what's left for the human hand? Arguably…quite a lot. In this talk, Jessica explores why craftsmanship isn't just a nice-to-have but a form of resilience (and resistance), arguing that the deeper your relationship with your craft, the less threatened you are by tools that optimize for speed. When we root our work in intention, story, and the particularities of how something is made, we create value that efficiency alone can't replicate. Rather than racing against automation, investing in craft gives us something to stand on — a point of view that no algorithm can shortcut.

Teddy Blanks, a two-time Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Title Design, will be joining our conference, Type Drives Commerce, on March 13 at Fordham University, marking a very special appearance—his first public talk since 2018. Blanks has become one of Hollywood’s most in-demand title designers by quietly shaping how films feel before a single scene unfolds. Working in close collaboration with directors, his unconventional approach to custom typography distills a film’s tone, era, and emotional register into a single typographic moment—shaping how audiences emotionally enter a story. His work can be seen across some of the most talked-about contemporary films and series, including Severance, Barbie, Nosferatu, Wicked, Weapons, and many more. You can hear his unique story and his developing type insight into the movie industry, exclusively for the TDC community. His work stands at the intersection of typography, popular culture, and unique cinematic storytelling—and demonstrates the kind of high-level typographic know-how we'll be covering throughout our one-of-a-kind conference. Earlybird prices end January 30. Reserve your spot now at the link in our profile. Type drives action. Type drives reaction. Type drives culture. Type drives commerce.
