If you want an always-on procurement strategy for your carbon, REC, SAFc, or EAC programs, you need always-on advice. Our own Harry Parkin is one of the best in the business. He's able to embed within many client sustainability teams and offer each real-time tailored strategy because he's extended by our AI + data platform.

I've read a lot of carbon strategies that never made it off the page. Not because the strategy was wrong. Because by the time it was written, the team had already moved on - reacting to a supplier pullout, an internal question from finance, a headline about a major buyer pausing purchases. Carbon markets don't move on a quarterly timeline. The decisions that matter happen faster than that. That's what I'm taking into my new role as Embedded Climate Strategist at Patch. It's not a consultancy model. It's not external advice on request. It's a climate expert working inside your sustainability program — present when it counts, not just available when you reach out. The carbon markets are more complex than they were two years ago. More scrutiny, more volatility, more noise. The companies managing it well aren't the ones with the best-written strategy. They're the ones with the most informed people making calls at the right moment. That's what ECS is built to do. Link in the first comment. #EmbeddedClimateStrategy #CarbonMarkets #Sustainability

Patch's Climate Strategy & Solutions team has tripled in size over the last 18 months (thankfully — hooray for this growth enabling my hiring!). So why are we changing the team's name and our titles? Because an important theme emerged through this growth. Our best work wasn't the engagements where we delivered a finished strategy and stepped back. It was the ones where we sat side-by-side with clients for weeks or months, meeting frequently, pressure-testing ideas together, and adjusting course as the market changed and matured. A strategy built in a black box fits in a black box. The ones that actually take root are the ones developed with a deep understanding of how a specific organization actually works. Working with clients, not for them. That small distinction matters a lot. When you're embedded in a client's world, present for the nuanced conversations, the leadership curveball, the market shift nobody saw coming, you can actually adjust course. You're a thought partner, not just a deliverable writer. Our team's new title, Embedded Climate Strategy, is meant to capture exactly that. Environmental markets aren't static, and neither are the steps required to meet climate commitments. What sustainability leaders need isn't a finished strategy, but someone who navigates the messiness alongside them, just as a colleague would. So, I'm now officially in the business of becoming everyone's colleague! See the link in the comments if you're curious what that looks like in practice.

The future of corporate sustainability has to be equally focused on impact and efficiency. We already live in a reality where every dollar of capital is precious. With limited resources, companies that go it alone may sacrifice impact for efficiency. Meanwhile, companies that have extended their team via consultants and advisory services have often sacrificed efficiency for impact. What corporate sustainability leaders need is advice that's dynamic to real-time changes in the market AND embedded in their unique business context. Enter Embedded Climate Strategy. More in the comments.

Corporate sustainability has a problem: the market moves faster than any internal team can keep up with. We've been solving this quietly inside companies like Workday, Docusign and IFS. Today the role gets a name. Enter the Embedded Climate Strategist. A modern sustainability team has to stay fluent across policy, compliance, risk, climate science, and environmental commodities. Every one of those is moving fast in 2026. No internal team can keep up, so enterprises work with partners. But traditional advisory is broken for this job. Consultants don't have live access to the market. Everyone in the market struggles with fragmentation. And deep business context is expensive. The more tailored the services, the more time billed. The result is generic and expensive strategy for the budget. What's actually needed is support that's live to both things at once: the market in real time and the business's specific context. Recent AI advances makes this affordable at scale. One Embedded Climate Strategist can now serve ten times the clients a traditional consultant could, because the platform does the heavy lifting behind them. Each ECS pairs deep domain expertise with an AI-native platform that gives them live pricing intelligence, market data, and structured diligence across every environmental commodity our clients buy. The strategist is the expert with judgement. The platform is what gives them superpowers to delivery the climate programs our clients, and planet, need. Link in the comments.

Imagine going into a restaurant that has 5,000 menu items and 50 different waiters. That's how our client Brendan Molony of Docusign describes the experience of buying environmental commodities in a conversation with Bee Hui Yeh on The Carbon Removal Show. And with 27,000+ projects across hundreds of suppliers in the voluntary carbon market alone, the restaurant analogy is an understatement. We've been proud to work closely with Docusign to help make these markets not only manageable but powerful in support of Docusign's sustainability goals. Take a listen to the podcast — link is in the comments below.

Our #SFClimateWeek calendar is packed with events for the highest levels of corporate sustainability leadership (like #Rebalance2026 on Monday) as well as operators at the director level and above. Take a look at our events next week here: https://lnkd.in/g_jSCzUc

Carbon markets have been all over LinkedIn lately, but a lot of the comments mix curiosity and confusion. Carbon credits can feel abstract, but the impact is concrete, literally, in the case of CarbonCure Technologies. Next Wednesday at SF Climate Week, Patch is hosting a hands-on session for senior sustainability leaders to see what to see what decarbonizing concrete looks like. Morning: a CarbonCure site visit on Treasure Island to see concrete mineralization technology in the field. Afternoon: an operator-led workshop and lunch at 1 Hotel to pressure-test what's working in real corporate programs. The workshop will be moderated by: - Sean McPhillips, Palo Alto Networks - John Kenneally, ZS - Dan Wesche, PhD, Patch - Emily Rogers, Patch You can join the site visit, the workshop, or both. We'll keep it under Chatham House Rule and focused on action rather than slides and pitches. If you lead climate, carbon, or sustainability and want a candid exchange with peers across sectors, join us. Registration link in the comments. What's the one question you want answered in the room?

It’s invite-only. CSOs far and wide: join us! https://lnkd.in/gZJZCDsQ

Upcoming webinar for anyone who's run into roadblocks that have derailed a carbon RFP or procurement process. Join us with Oliver Wyman's Global Head of Sustainability, Lauren Wylie, and Planboo's CEO, Freddie Catlow (moderated by Patch's Bee Hui Yeh) for a practitioner's guide to getting from strategy through transaction smoothly. We'll unpack the buyer's journey from end‑to‑end: setting acceptance criteria that survive cross‑functional review, running diligence that's fast and defensible, and avoiding mid‑process inventory shocks. You'll leave with concrete tools: a criteria template you can adapt, a diligence flow that limits rework, and a checklist to protect momentum during contracting and settlement. If you're tired of restarts and "almost closed," this session is built for you. Thu, April 30 at 8:30am PST (4:30pm GMT). Save your spot. Link in the first comment.
