Wolfe6900 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 (edited) Simple Jobs View File Simple Jobs.esp What it is: A simple mod that adds a few small time and radiant jobs for the female protagonist in the town of Concord. It's made to pair with more extreme sexist mods during early gameplay as a way to earn small cap awards for misc jobs. This makes the role-playing experience a little better, considering a Level 1 character probably can't go around guns blazing in a Sexist, Apocalyptic wasteland without earning some caps and arming up first. The end goal is to make Concord a kind of "safe haven" with a sexist aura until the Player can venture out into the world. All quests are currently voiced by AI, enhancing immersion. No markers/quests will be populated to avoid clogging up the Player's journal. You will just need to explore Concord. 1. Maid: Work at Hotel Concord. Repletively clean rooms to make small amounts of caps. 2. Waitress: Take orders from customers and give it to the Chef to make small cap rewards. 3. Nurse: Talk to patients to earn 1-3 caps per conversation. Cash out at the end of your shift. 4. Pinup girl: Risk 1,000 caps to do a Photoshoot with a potential of 500-1,300 cap return (bonus if doing it naked). 5. Post Girl: Work as a small time delivery girl and deliver packages around town for 0-20 caps per delivery. There's 5 mailboxes (no markers), you'll need to find the right one and deliver the package to it. 6. Bar: Take orders, cook food, fetch drinks for a sexist bar for small tips. 7. Bank: Deposit, Withdraw, Invest & Receive Dividends. Investing = permanently lose the money for a 5-10% return on how much was invested on a daily amount. 8. Clothing Store: Purchase more outfits. Most jobs give an outfit and/or have uniform requirements (keyword conditions) to progress. Requirements: Waitress/Postal: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2136 Maid: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/27185 Nurse: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/30865 (Remember to build with Bodyslide!) Compatibility: - Built on Fallout 4 1.10.163; may not be compatible with other builds. Incompatibilities: - Any mod that strips away keywords, and special thanks to Samhsay, there's now a patch for Skimpy Armor Keyword Resource (SAKR). - Any mod that may change/add/remove doors in Concord. It was built alongside with Concord Personified so they should be compatible. Future Plans: - Change template NPCs so its not always the same guy. - Different Outfits (with requirements) - Different Poses (with requirements) - Unlock doors when "When Freedom Calls" is finished. - Populating Streets - Adding Guards you can convince letting you out of the town. - Adding Weapons you can only buy as a woman with a Mayor's note - Creating an MCM Bugs/Known Issues: - Maid currently isn't working if first quest is this. Probably a multiple condition requirement met; will fix in next update. - Postal Service won't generate NPCs. Will fix before next update. - Game gets stuck if moving to furniture in 1st person. This is a Fallout engine problem, nothing I can do on my end. Suggestion is to play in 3rd Person. - Postal Service: Not generating quest markers. I'm not sure why FO4 has problems setting Activators as Quest Markers. Credits: Derpsdale - Tera Nurse Armor, Maid Armor Twistedsymmetry - Short Skirts Backsteppo - Maid Armor invalidfate - Mina Armor (not yet incorporated in game) Samhsay - For SAKR Patch Quote COC Locations: SJApartmentUNUSED - Not yet implemented SJBar - Not yet implemented SJCafeShop - Waitress Quest SJClothingStore - Not yet implemented SJGeneralStore - Simple Generic Purchasing SJHotel - Maid Quest SJNewsJob - Postal Service Quest SJPharmacy - Nurse Quest SJPhotoStudio - Pinup Girl Quest SJTest - Testing Ground (get all the outfits) Submitter Wolfe6900 Submitted 01/11/26 Category Quest Requirements None - Just the base game. nefer385 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Not sure if this was intended. But, the title Simple Jobs and then writing the following. "This gives some simple jobs: maid, waitress, post delivery, nurse & pinup girl model. This makes it so in the early stages of the game (when rad roaches kill half your health) you can still do basic jobs that are suitable for a woman. Obviously, we have women who serve in the military, security, police officers, emergency lines of work, doctors, judges, lawyers.... maybe this was intended, but the wording seems pretty condescending. Beyond that, we have tons of mods that feature women being enslaved, pimped out, etc., so not trying to curtail your vision or the aims of your mod. Just want to give you a head's up on how it may be interpreted by a large audience.

Yeah, basically, try to have dignity, but the wasteland is going to rape and torture the player anyway (with other mods) so you might as well come prepared by earning some caps working as a waitress and buy some guns before you enter eternal suffering, lol. 3

katrina.balanchuk Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Great idea! PS: How does the mod address that the town is raider City? basically realistically no go area for her. Is this for after the fights are won? or du you remove the raiders? Or

xyzxyz Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Aren't the only inhabitants of concord raiders and a deathclaw?

Or Yeah, the goal is to slap an additional script on "When Freedom Calls" (the quest to clear the raiders) that unlocks the doors, populates the town, etc. (almost as if the raiders had the settlers lock up their doors and hide inside) 2

xXxMikeyxXx Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Not sure what I did wrong here. Very interesting concept. When I open the doors you boarded up frame is still visible, normal? I'm stuck in a repeat cycle where the diolouge don't go past starting. I has to say "pre war dress" ? I just threw on a green dress and the diolouge wont go past agreeing....
xyzxyz Posted January 14 Posted January 14 (edited) Fred only wanders from one chair to the next instead of doing photos. The dialogue doesn't change. Same problem in the newspaper. He won't give me the uniform. Edited January 16 by xyzxyz
xyzxyz Posted January 14 Posted January 14 (edited) Nobody in the Hotel has any dialogues. Not even Jeremy Edited January 14 by xyzxyz

I just threw on a green dress and the diolouge wont go past agreeing.... It needs to be one of the PreWar dresses the NPCs give you. They've got a certain keyword that makes the mod recognize it differently. There were some bugs for the maid & postal quest that were fixed in the update I just posted.

I played around with debugging it for hours until I finally decided to scrap it and start over. The new version 1.0.1 should fix it. The Postal one was also being buggy since I didn't test it much before the post. I made some edits and it should work fine now. The PinUp girl should work fine though. I haven't noticed any bugs yet, but I'll dive in and check it again before I push another update.
Kalamaki22 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Hi I am having an issue with interacting with other NPCs. Dialogue will not activate with Diamond City guards or residents. In NukaRide you cannot interact with Duke etc. I have tried both versions and the issue only occurs when I have this mod activated. Really wanted to try it, in a way would be a perfect start for NukaRide, so hope it is an easy fix. Good luck.

It's now fixed in V1.0.2.
Barry W. Posted January 16 Posted January 16 1 hour ago, Wolfe6900 said: Hi! A waitress quest. The dress isn't given out after accepting the job. However, if you get it through the console, the client places the order. But the owner still offers the job after that, and the dialog box breaks, preventing further progress. Bug. Great idea with player jobs! I'm surprised no one has implemented a waitress or cleaner job in all these years. I think it would be easier to add such jobs to Diamond City or Goodneighbor first. We need to create a reason to stick around in the cities to better immerse players in the harsh world. Low wages, high start-up costs, and the inevitable temptations for easy money... Please polish up the waitress job somewhere in the Commonwealth first. This game is sorely lacking in ways to earn money without killing. You'll be a true hero. 3

I'm not sure how I can recreate the issue. It seems to work well on my end, but I'll slap some more conditions on it and hope that fixes it. The previous would just unequip the dress if wearing and give you a new one, I added an alternate dialogue to detect if you're already wearing it that I'll push in the next update.
Strsylight00 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I keep agreeing to a photoshoot, but the guy never actually does it. Is it the dress? Whats the id for the prewar dress? Because i cant find one anywhere. 1

Too many of the female oriented mods assume a bruiser-man level of violent agency to get a step in the quest progression done. Which is very immersion breaking. We need a purely social game/quest mod, that she can get through simply by being a pretty girl and doing the things she realisitcally can. I struggle to even just hold some of the bigger guns my late husband kept. never mind running with them. I mean for a few seconds i can hold any of them, but in this game its never just for a short time. My son assures me they are among the lighest rifles, 🫠 As for Nora unlike her husband she's never been trained in Power Armor, she has no military training, she has lawyer training which is completly useless in the wasteland. She likely also cannot hold or use any of those huge in game weapons in any meaningful way. or run with them. If I were in such a post-apoc , hopefully with my younger 20 year old looks and health, but my current knowlegde I culd probbaly do a lot with herbs and natural remedies which I happen to know some, as far as practical skills go. I did fairly late in life get a degree in Radiation Oncology Nursing, but that would also have limited use. And besides I like to do all this as my younger self anyway. So other than her looks, Nora has no realistic agency or empowerment. Luckily with showlooksmenu we can give her the very best figure and face possible. When I build my charatcer I maximize Charis/Charm to 10 pulling points from all other SPECIALS. Other young women in the commonwealth arent dead, since there will always be men around to help and provide, especially if you are pretty and well-behaved. So why does she need to die fighting ? I think this mod is a very big step in the right direction and I hope it will keep getting more content. Edited January 18 by katrina.balanchuk 2

The NPC gives me the jobs states he is giving me my outfit but no outfits show up in my inventory and as a result I cannot do any of the jobs. (started a new playthrought to try this) The photoshoot guy just walks from chair to chair. But even if there were no bugs... a respectful criticism now that I met the photographer? Why am I paying him, to take naked pics of me? Should it not be, the other way around? I get it, its supposed to be a profit risk thing and in modeling we have to pay the studio to create our portfolio but where would the character get this money on her entry to Concord? At that point she'd be lucky to have 3-5 caps found. Wouldnt it be more immersive if he offers her money for anaked shoot (and a naked shoot only)? Anyway, just an idea. Still love the idea of this mod and am sure the bugs will be ironed out soon. Edited January 18 by katrina.balanchuk 2
