Aatu Isopahkala
Anomancer
Here I take apart AI, agents, agent systems, software, language and other complex systems, then try to explain them in clear language.
At the same time I build my own agents, agent systems, prototypes and experiments. I look at the same phenomena from technical, human, social and occasionally slightly sideways angles. The goal is not to manufacture one final answer, but to make visible what a system is doing, what is a claim, what is interpretation, what remains uncertain and what any of it is actually useful for.
Who am I? ↓Who am I?
I don't fit one job title.
I have followed the development of AI closely since the first major wave. The last three years have been unusual: models, tools, interfaces and the public conversation around them have sometimes changed month by month, sometimes week by week.
I follow the global development, but also how the same phenomenon appears in Finland. I am especially interested in the gap between what the technology can actually do and how it is discussed in public. That gap fills quickly with uncertainty, exaggeration, dismissal and disinformation. Algorithms tend to amplify what makes people react, not necessarily what helps them understand what is happening.

These years have also been personally intense and, at times, difficult. I have built, tested, read, compared models and tried to keep up with a field that rarely waits. That is probably one reason I now care increasingly about making the whole thing more understandable to people.
My original background is not in computer science. I trained as a practical nurse and disability support worker, and later as a ventilation installer. There was no ready-made path from there into AI research or technology. I ended up here mainly by building, studying and connecting things that do not necessarily belong in the same room on paper.
That probably explains how I look at technology too. I am rarely interested only in how a system works. I care just as much about what it does to people, what kinds of behaviour it creates, and what happens when a technical system meets the real world.
Systems thinker, concept designer and prototyper describe my work better than a single established title. If I need one name for the wider approach, I use Modular Creative Intelligence.
Anomancer is the public interface to that work. Dispatches translate the knowledge for people. Core exposes the architecture of agents and orchestras. The real control plane and production runs stay inside the private cockpit.

Two ways in.
Dispatches are the human-readable version. Core shows how the agent machine room is built.

A few things about me.
Who I am: a 29-year-old human from Tampere who loves raccoons and conceptual clarity, while also building concepts of my own that are not always very clear.
What I do: art and research, although some days I may simply spend time wondering about the taste of a cherry tomato and the roundness of it.
Why I do it: to help myself and others, and to act as one example of how we might build a more responsible future without forgetting curiosity and our ability to laugh.
Who it is for: primarily anyone who is already at least a little horrified by having to wade through the fog of the internet.

A problem, an idea or a strange observation? Send it here.
You are welcome to contact me with a low threshold.
It does not need to be a finished project, job description or collaboration proposal. If you have run into a problem, idea or system and think I might see something useful in it, write to me.
I am especially interested in situations that do not fit neatly into an existing box. It may involve AI, software, learning, creative work, security, communication, systems, research or something completely different.
I am not currently selling packaged consulting, courses or paid services through this site. I approach the whole thing through the person and the problem first.
I am also actively looking for new people to work and think with, regardless of background. I am open to collaborations, experiments, research, projects, strange combinations and possible work opportunities.
“I have this slightly strange problem. What do you see in it?”
That is enough to start.
