I build tools that make game dev less painful.

This is my personal corner of the internet for the things I'm making and writing down. Here you'll find my open source libraries, writing, practical tutorials, and experiments focused on everyday problems game developers actually run into.

About

Hi, I'm Christopher Whitley, though you'll probably know me online as AristurtleDev.

I'm a software developer who enjoys building the tools, libraries, and educational resources that make game development a little easier for everyone else. While I do build games, I've discovered that I get the most satisfaction from creating the infrastructure that helps other developers build theirs.

Most of my work revolves around the MonoGame ecosystem, where I maintain open-source projects, contribute to community libraries, write tutorials, and help improve documentation. I enjoy taking complex topics and breaking them down into explanations that I wish had existed when I was learning.

This website is where I collect everything I create: open-source projects, technical articles, tutorials, experiments, and the occasional deep dive into whatever has captured my attention that week. If something I've learned can save someone else a few hours of frustration, it's probably going to end up here.
