“A bumblebee never asks for permission to fly”
Read the welcome addresses from the leaders of BEESMUNC 2026.
Dear esteemed delegates, DAIS, advisers and other distinguished guests,
It is my honour to invite you to the third iteration of Tenby Setia EcoHill’s MUN conference, BEESMUNC’26. I am proud to have the privilege of carrying this legacy by serving as the Secretary General of this year’s conference.
In our increasingly complex world, uncertainty is becoming a defining norm. Day after day, we see news of escalating conflicts, continued exploitation and human rights abuses, deepening intolerance, environmental challenges and other issues which demand international attention and action. In Gaza, a catastrophic humanitarian crisis has led to widespread displacement, destruction, death and famine. In Afghanistan, women’s rights continue to be systematically erased. In Sudan, an ongoing civil war has displaced millions and plunged communities into turmoil and violence. With so many regions in the world facing similar crises and emergencies, it may be easy to feel overwhelmed by the scale and complexity of the issues. With that, I urge you all to remember that apathy and ignorance enable systems of oppression to continue.
For me, beyond just researching and reading the news, MUN is how I am able to stay engaged about these challenges. Over the course of the three days in BEESMUNC’26, delegates will experience interesting debates, immerse themselves in the discussion of key global crises and put themselves in the shoes of representatives of their individual nations. With that in mind, our agendas were meticulously created to serve the purpose of addressing the most crucial issues. I hope that the conference is fun and memorable, but beyond that, I hope that delegates leave more informed and with new perspectives that have applications even outside of council sessions.
Lastly, I would just like to express my appreciation for the dedication of our team of Secretariats and DAIS, whose contributions make this conference possible in the first place. On behalf of the Secretariat Team, we warmly welcome you to BEESMUNC’26, and we hope we can greet you in person. I look forward to experiencing a successful conference.
All the best!
Yours sincerely,
Darren Toh Jun Hao
Secretary General of BEESMUNC’26
To my honourable and distinguished delegates, chairs, advisers, and guests,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to my school’s 3rd MUN Conference: BEESMUNC 2026. As the Secretary General, I am truly honoured and excited to have each and every one of you join us in this meaningful experience of diplomacy, collaboration, and debate.
Model United Nations is more than just a conference. It is a platform where young leaders come together to learn, understand, and work towards solutions for global issues. I hope this conference inspires you to step out of your comfort zone, build new connections, and create unforgettable memories as it did for me. Whether this is your first debate or you are an experienced delegate, there is always something new to learn and a voice that deserves to be heard. I encourage you to participate actively, speak boldly, and enjoy every moment of the journey.
I have always been passionate about leadership and creating opportunities for students to grow with confidence. Being part of MUN has taught me valuable skills such as public speaking, critical thinking, and teamwork. In this conference, BEESMUNC 2026, I am truly honoured to serve as your Secretary General.
Together with our dedicated organising team, we have worked hard to create an engaging experience for all who are taking part in this conference. On behalf of the BEESMUNC 26 Secretariat Team, we welcome you once again. We are truly looking forward to witnessing the debates, resolutions, and fun that will be happening throughout the conference.
Warm regards,
E Lace Low
Secretary General of BEESMUNC’26
