What this policy covers

This policy covers information collected through our websites, forms, online bookings, email and online services — how it is gathered, what it is used for, and what your rights are.

Some of our divisions also collect information in the course of doing physical work — site details, access arrangements, system configuration. Where we have a contract or service agreement with you, that agreement governs how information specific to your job is handled. The sections below describe our general practice; they do not replace the terms of your agreement.

What we collect

Everyone

Dus Tarot — additional information

Because readings are prepared from personal details, Dus Tarot may also collect:

Dus Media — podcast guests and production clients

If you appear as a guest on one of our shows, we collect your name, contact details, biography, photograph, links you want us to share, and anything you provide in preparation for the interview.

Your interview is recorded, and the recording is intended for publication. That is the purpose of appearing. We may edit it, publish it on podcast platforms and YouTube, quote from it, and use clips to promote the episode. You agree to this when you book.

If we produce a show or channel for you, we collect the business and contact information needed to do that work, along with the material you provide for production.

Dus Consulting — business and technical clients

For consulting work we may collect business contact details, information about your systems and how they are configured, and — where the work requires it — access credentials to your systems.

Credentials are treated as the most sensitive information we hold. They are stored securely, used only for the work you have engaged us for, and deleted on completion of the engagement. We do not retain access to a client's systems after the work is finished.

Dus Events — attendees, exhibitors and venues

Where we organise or take part in an event, we collect the contact details needed to run it — attendee registrations, exhibitor and vendor information, and venue and organiser contacts.

We do not share attendee or exhibitor information with anyone. Not with other exhibitors, not with venues, not with sponsors. If you attend an event we are running, your details stay with us.

At in-person events, readings may be booked on the day and contact details collected in person. We tell you at the time what we will use them for.

Events may be photographed, filmed or streamed. Where that is the case we say so on the event page and at the venue.

Dus Designs — design clients

We collect the business and contact details needed for the work, along with brand assets, source files and any content you supply. Client work and files are not shared or published without your agreement.

In The Dust DJ Services

For DJ and event bookings we collect contact details, event date, venue, and the information needed to plan the booking — music preferences, timings, and any requests you give us.

Where you have a booking agreement with us, that agreement governs the terms of the event itself.

Able Cabling — residential and commercial clients

Able Cabling installs structured cabling, networks, home theatre and smart home automation, for homes as well as businesses.

Through our website and enquiries we collect your contact details and the information you give us about the work you need.

In the course of the work itself we collect the address where the work is done, site or floor layouts, and access arrangements — including who to contact for entry. (Where you have a service agreement with us, that agreement governs how job-specific information is handled.)

For residential work that address is your home, and the layout is the layout of your home.

For home theatre, smart home automation and network installations, we may also configure or hold information about your network, smart-home and audio-visual devices, cameras, entry systems, the accounts those devices connect to, and the credentials needed to set them up.

How this is handled:

Photographs of completed work. We may photograph finished installations for our portfolio. We do not photograph security-sensitive areas, and nothing we publish identifies your property — no house numbers, no street views, no recognisable interiors, nothing showing how the building is accessed. This applies to homes and business premises alike. If you would prefer we take no photographs at all, tell us and we won't.

Information about other people

Some readings — relationship, compatibility and synastry readings — require details about a second person, usually a partner. That person has not contacted us and has not consented to us holding their information.

When you provide information about another person, you confirm that you are entitled to share it with us. We use it only to prepare the reading you have requested. We do not add that person to any mailing list, we do not contact them, and we delete their details once your reading has been delivered. If you book a further reading involving the same person, we will ask for the details again.

If you are that other person and you believe we hold information about you, contact us at the address above and we will tell you what we hold and delete it on request.

Payments

Payments are processed by Square and Stripe. We do not store your full card details. We share only what those providers need to take payment or issue a refund.

Artificial intelligence — our commitments

We are explicit about this because your spiritual and personal information is exactly the kind of data that AI systems are hungriest for, and because you deserve to know where we stand.

Dus Tarot — your reading is not training data

What you share in a reading stays confidential. We do not feed your questions, your situation, your birth information, or anything you tell us into AI systems that harvest, store, or train on that data. Your vulnerability is held in trust, not commodified.

We do not use AI to perform readings. A reading is a human act — presence, attention, and years of practice reading people as well as cards. No AI generates your reading, and no AI stands in for the reader.

Where we do use AI: as a study tool, in our own preparation and learning — research, exploring interpretive traditions, developing our craft. That work never involves your personal information.

If you use AI tarot tools yourself, that is entirely your business. We would only say that they are a mirror, not a therapist, and useful for reflection rather than for decisions.

Dus Media — how real situations are used

Spirit of Dating and other Dus Media shows sometimes discuss real situations, including the kinds of patterns that come up in readings.

We never share client information. Before anything reaches an episode, the situation is anonymised: names are removed and identifying facts are deliberately changed — timeframes, places, circumstances and details are altered so the situation cannot be traced to anyone. A relationship of two years might be described as ten; something that happened in one city is placed in another.

What survives is the pattern and the emotional truth of it. Everything that could identify a person does not.

No client information is submitted to AI systems. AI may assist with scripting, editing, transcription, show notes and artwork, but the material it works from has already been anonymised.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, how it has been used, and whether it has been involved in any AI-assisted process. Contact us at the address above.

Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)

We are a Canadian business and we follow CASL.

We only send commercial email to people who have given express consent, or where we have a business relationship that CASL recognises. When you sign up, we tell you who is sending, give our mailing address, describe what we will send, and say that you can unsubscribe at any time.

Nothing is pre-checked. You choose which types of message you want. Choosing none is a valid answer.

Every commercial message we send includes the sender's identity, our mailing address, and a working unsubscribe link that we act on promptly.

We keep a record of your consent — what you agreed to, the date, and the IP address the form was submitted from — so we can show that you asked to hear from us.

To withdraw consent, use the unsubscribe link in any email, use the preference link to change which messages you receive, or contact us at the address above.

PIPEDA — your rights in Canada

Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email us at the address above. We will respond within 30 days.

We collect only what we need for the purpose we told you about. We do not sell your information. We do not share it with unrelated third parties for their own marketing.

Your rights under GDPR

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to be informed, to access, to rectification, to erasure, to restrict processing, to object, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, not to be subject to automated decision-making, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

We ask only for information reasonably required to provide the service you have asked for, and we do not make consent to unnecessary processing a condition of doing business with you.

How long we keep things

Information Retention
Mailing list subscription Until you unsubscribe
Consent records For as long as we hold your subscription, plus 3 years afterwards, as evidence
Client records, reading history, recordings and shared folder 3 years from your last session
Information about third parties Deleted once the reading is delivered (see above)
Financial records 7 years

One company, seven divisions — what we share internally

DusGroup Ltd is a single company. Our divisions are not separate businesses, and our work often crosses between them — a podcast produced by one division for another, a studio built by one for a client of another, a coaching engagement drawing on two.

We hold one record per person. If you deal with more than one division, you are one person in our records, not several. This is deliberate: it means we know we have worked with you before, and you do not have to explain yourself twice.

What is shared between divisions:

What is NOT shared between divisions:

Marketing between divisions is separate and requires your permission. Being a Dus Tarot client does not put you on an Able Cabling mailing list. If you want to hear about our other divisions, there is a specific option for that when you sign up — and you can change it at any time. We do not use it unless you have chosen it.

Who we share with

We use service providers to run our business. They may process your information on our behalf, and are required to keep it confidential:

Provider Purpose
MailerLite Signup forms and consent capture
Zoho (CRM, Campaigns, Books, Bookings) Client records, email delivery, invoicing
Calendly Online booking
Zoom, Google Meet Video conferencing for online readings and sessions
Square, Stripe Payment processing
Microsoft 365 Email
SiteGround, HostPapa, Podpage Website hosting
Google (Analytics) Anonymous website statistics
Social media platforms — Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Rumble Publishing, audience engagement, and podcast distribution

Social media. When you interact with us on a social platform — a comment, a message, a follow — that platform collects and processes your information under its own privacy policy, not ours. We see what the platform shows us. If you send us a direct message, we may add your contact details to our records so we can reply and follow up.

Recordings

Online sessions. Readings held over Zoom are recorded only if you ask for one. We ask before every session begins, and if you say no, nothing is recorded.

If you do want a recording, it is placed in your own folder in Microsoft OneDrive / SharePoint.

Your folder. Each client has a single folder that we share with you by private link. Over time it may hold more than recordings — session recordings from repeat readings, and for coaching clients, written reports, exercises, worksheets and other materials from your sessions.

In-person sessions. We do not record in-person readings. You are welcome to record your own reading if you'd like to — just ask. That recording is yours; we do not keep a copy.

We may disclose your information where required by law, subpoena or court order, to assist law enforcement, or to protect our legal rights.

Where your information is processed

Several of our service providers store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. Where that happens, your information is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts and law-enforcement authorities. We choose providers that offer appropriate protections, but we cannot exempt them from the laws that apply where they operate.

The parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing other remedies.
