A good read (and with school returning, must read for every #Canadian) on Friday's Trade Deal That Never Was, this one from Dean Blundell, with the realities of what the Trump regime attempted to do to #Canada rather chilling in places.
This is also an example of why you should read and reread every contract in detail before signing. Some of the clauses they tried to slip in here don't surprise me as this 'controlling your partner' and 'limiting your partners prospectives' sort of language has increasingly been working its way into contracts with the suggestion it is 'standard'. It's not, it's control, it's bullying. I rewrite that language out of any contract I sign, and if the other party won't accept that change or a reasonably mutual one, I walk away. Just remember to reread the contract again before signing. Also don't let them rush you. Take your time and make sure you understand everything before signing.

Echoing Tod Maffin's sentiments on Hey.CafĂŠ. I love it, and Creator Anthony Lee is all kinds of awesome and super responsive.
I also echo Tod's sentiment that we should be supporting Canadian platforms and media sources. I see this in my courses, where despite being presented with alternatives and the advantages of those alternatives, people keep going back to the products of tech giants, only to complain about algorithms, having their data mined, and no access to those managing the platform. Here's a novel idea: stop that cycle by supporting smaller platforms that demonstrate an interest in social good, and help build the culture on that platform.
