Differentiated Plans: a plan for every student

Each student is unique, and differentiation is one of the clearest ways to make learning more effective for the individual learner. The Planner is the core tool in itslearning for organising teaching and learning activities. Until now, teachers could only assign plans to all participants in a course. With Differentiated Plans, teachers can assign a plan to specific students or groups, supporting personalised learning without creating separate courses.

Save File Resources: Students Keep Access to What They Need

When a course ends, students often lose access to the files inside it. Resources they used during the term, such as documents, presentations, and videos, become unavailable the moment they are removed from the course or the course itself is closed. For many students, this happens at exactly the wrong time: during revision, at the start of a new school year, or when moving on to the next stage of their studies.

Using tablets effectively in the classroom: How to support personalised learning and independence

The role of tablets in schools continues to evolve. While education authorities in some countries are reducing screen use, others are investing in digital devices as part of their teaching and learning strategies.But how can teachers use tablets effectively to support personalised learning and enrich lessons? Current research shows that tablets can support learning processes, motivation, collaboration and independent work when they are integrated in a pedagogically meaningful way (Fischer & Nörpel, 2024; University of Würzburg, “School of Tomorrow” research project, 2025).

The key factor is not the device itself, but how it is used in the classroom. A clear digital learning environment helps to structure tablet use effectively. Learning platforms such as itslearning also make it possible to connect learning activities with learning objectives and curriculum requirements. This gives teachers an overview not only of tasks and materials, but also of the learner’s competencies and where further support may be needed.

The font on the screen matters

Teachers make hundreds of decisions every day. Most of them focus on helping students learn: who needs extra support, what needs to be explained differently, and how to keep the class engaged. Something as simple as the font used on screen can influence how easily students read and understand content.

Font selection will be available across itslearning by the end of June. Administrators can set a default font for the entire site, while teachers and students can choose their preferred font if this option has not been restricted through profile settings.
