Amtgard is a world-wide organization dedicated to medieval and fantasy combat sports and recreation. We use padded weapons, fantasy and authentic clothing, and imagination to immerse players in a world of heroic combat, quests, crafts, and more. No matter if your interest is competitive sports fighting, finding an outlet for your creative talents, or honing your leadership skills, Amtgard has something to offer you!

How old do you have to be to play Amtgard?

It can very per kingdom but for here in Northreach you have to be 14 years of age or older to play Amtgard. But anyone 14 or 15 has to have a legal parent or guardian present at all times.

Does it cost anything to play?

Yes and no. In the summer time it is 100% free to come out and play! But in the winter time, a lot of locations have a fee of 5 dollars per adventurer to play.

Yes! There is a whole rulebook that can tell you all about the game mechanics and classes! You can find this book on the Amtgard international page.

I have no gear and i don't know how to play. Should i still come?

100%!!! Each park has there own loaner gear to lend out weapons and equipment. And everyone is very welcoming and happy to teach new adventures!

I dont like getting hit by foam swords. Are there other options so I can still participate?

Yes! There are many ways you can be apart of Amtgard and not swing a single sword. Many people like to come to just hangout or even craft! Each location even has a craft night called A&S that is FREE to attend. Reach out to a park near you to see other fun options!
