“Columbus and the Quest for Jerusalem: How Religion Drove the Voyages that Led to America” Book by Carol Delaney

The author, Carol Delaney, brings Columbus into his proper historical context so that the reader can understand him and his times better. The book is well researched. The cover is my favorite Columbus painting. It’s probably the best modern-day nonprimary sourcebook on the subject. It should be part of your Columbus library collection.  #CarolDelaneyColumbusBook

The History Channel is Wrong!

Question: What is wrong with the video link above from The History Channel? Answer: Everything! If Columbus did not discover America because there were people already living here, then by the same faulty logic the Vikings, […]

Debunking Knowing Better

Some time ago, a Youtuber who goes by the name of “Knowing Better” (KB) made a video defending Columbus from many of the revisions out there. Yet, he said in the same video that Columbus was neither good or bad. I was also intrigued about why the video was subtitled “An Exaggerated Evil,” which means […]

Wikipedia vs. Columbus

What is wrong with Wikipedia’s biography on Columbus? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Columbus) First, let me start with what they’ve got right: Though long and boring, Columbus’ biography on Wikipedia has a lot of scholarly accurate information there. However, it also has the usual revisionist innuendos and inaccuracies.  For example, Wikipedia claims Columbus “founded the transatlantic slave trade.” Yet, […]

Here is the answer from my book “Christopher Columbus The Hero” Chapter 3: Chapter 3. Discover, not “Discover” The traditional story of Christopher Columbus tells us that he discovered America.
