I wanted to upgrade from my F310 (for some background context) and I really liked The Competitor.

It's reliable, USB C cable is really long (in case you play further from the screen or on your tv, you have a good length).

The packaging is quite solid and the sticks are well protected.

It's construction is solid, feels good to the touch. The buttons are good,the D-Pad does the job and it's comfortable, maybe not the best for your use case, but that's really subjective to your preference and games.

The sticks are the best thing I've tried, not just the hall effect but the friction ring really works. The triggers work wonderfully and the extra back buttons... Well, they might have an use for you (the lock is quite satisfying to switch, be careful)

And it has rumble, it's not the best of the best but does the job.

In conclusion, it's a good symmetrical controller for someone more casual, or that uses controller as a secondary input on PC.

I love the PS5 controller and when I went back to the controller for my Xbox Series X, it was clear how much I didn't like it. The triggers feel like crap, d-pad is loud and "clicky", and I love the symmetrical joysticks of the PS5. For $50, it was worth the risk and it paid off well!

The Competitor seems to be a perfect 1:1 recreation of the Dualsense size and shape, and it feels nice and heavy at 231g compared to the 271g of the Dualsense. At 85% of the weight, it feels perfect, and not light and crapy. Impressive how heavy it is considering there is no battery or adaptive trigger motors.

It has high-quality vibration motors inside, and I don't thnk that's advertised well. The hall effect sticks should mean no stick drift, something my OEM xbox controllers were dealing with.

For my fellow Playstation players who need to go to Xbox once in a while, this is well worth it!

Out of the box , I liked that the cable was so long because my only available USB's are in the back of my PC.

I've always played with PlayStation controllers even on pc so the sticks being symmetrical was a big draw for me. I've tried a few traditional Xbox styles controllers but couldn't get used to the asymmetrical sticks. I am already into my third dual sense because of drift and heard that these Hall effect sticks might be better so going to give it a try.

After playing for a few hours I realized that this controller doesn't have that sharp bottom edge that the ps5 one does. I used to keep my ps4 controller around because after about 1 hour, I have to switch from ps5 to ps4 controller because the ps5 one digs into my pinky

Pros:

*Buttons and feedback feels good

*In-hand feel is great, higher quality material than I expected tbh

*Weight is on point (heavier than ps4 controller and lighter than the duelsense )

*This controller has rumble! I didn't see it was mentioned as a feature but Im glad it has it.

*works out of the box without any additional software

*tested on my usual games with no issues and plug and play (Genshin, ZZZ, BPSR, WuWa)

*I also tested it with AntiMicroX and it recognized the controller right away ( it's a free key-rebind app that I use because one of the mmo games I play needs some buttons to be controller mapped and some to be keyboard keys. so for example I was able to map the X button on this controller to the F key on my keyboard using antimicroX)

Cons:

*There's no gryoscope which I sometimes use, but it's not a dealbreaker

*I have to get used the X,Y,A,B instead of square, circle etc. lol

Although because the layout is so similar to what I'm used to, my muscle memory picks it up fine

Other:

* I probably won't use the programmable buttons in the back because I know I'll hit them by mistake, but it's cool that you can lock them

* I haven't tried the second pair of sticks that it came with, but neat that that you can just plop them out and back in. Might try one and one for a while

I uploaded some footage of me playing, I tend to button mash lol, but seems like this controller can take it.

Overall I'm impressed with it and plan to keep using it. If you're someone who's used to playing on PlayStation and want something that works well for PC, I would say give this controller a try.

So after my elite series 2 started getting serious wear (rubber grips fell off) I needed a new controller and I wasn't willing to pay money for a new elite controller. After gaming with this controller for around 7-8 hours I have to say it's not bad at all its almost exactly like the PS5 controller in every way. So why the four stars you ask I'll say the controller has no rubber grips which is a downside for me I like rubber grips for those hard core gamers who game for a long time the controller tends to get slippery from hand sweat. But good thing is the plastic on the back is textured and provides some grip not as much as the actual rubber grips but it's something. Another thing is a pro and a con is the cord it's a wired controller so you won't be able to has the freedom as you will with a cordless one. With that being said the length is good it's a decent size so you won't have to worry. The controller definitely feels well made to my only complaint is the controller is a bit on the light side which I don't like. Maybe it's because I'm used to gaming with my elite series 2 that controller has some heft to it. The controller also has 2 programmable buttons on the back not 4 like other controllers but still ok they are kind of in the way when I game but you can lock the buttons so you won't accidentally press them. For those hardcore shooters you don't have trigger locks so that's a downside but it's not an issue for me since the current cods suck and battlefield isn't much of a hardcore shooter so it's fine for me. All in all I'm happy with my purchase since back in the day I preferred the PlayStation controller over the Xbox so this is a nice change of pace. And the controller comes with a one month gamepass code so it's good. I'd say if you need something cheap go for it it's a well made controller for gaming keep that in mind it's going to lack in those more competitive games

No seriously, this is absolutely perfect. It's a much better fit for especially PS1 than the 8bitdo Pro 3. And against a PS5 controller you either have no Hall Effect sticks or no rumble. It's just a good controller with no extra bells and whistles that you wouldn't be using much on the platform.

The controller feels well made and durable with the perfect amount of heft (a hard thing to pull off when there's no extra weight from a battery). It's snappy and responsive enough to pull off Legend of Dragoon quicktime events or Tekken 3 combos with ease. Joysticks feel great with games that use both of them. Rumble is absolutely on point. Most things have been thought of, for example you can lock down the back paddle buttons so they don't accidentally press and feel weird when you aren't using them. They even packaged some nice concave stick tips if you want them.

The Competitor has made me a believer in Hyperkin's quality, I'll probably be purchasing more from them.

TLDR: Xbox controller in a Dualsense shell +2 back buttons. If you prefer the PS5 controller, it's a no-brainer. Don't expect advanced PS5 features of an actual Dualsense and you shouldn't be disappointed! /TLDR

Plug and play function of an Xbox controller with the form factor of the PS5's Dualsense. No internal gyro, no touch pad, and no adaptive triggers but does have the Xbox impulse triggers and does add a couple buttons on the rear you can set on the fly or lock and ignore. I've tried a number of Xbox brand and aftermarket controllers but they all wind up hurting my hands after long gaming sessions by being just a bit too small for me and having to keep a tighter grip. The Hyperkin controller feels just like a Dualsense in my hands, though slightly lighter. Already moved up difficulty in Forza Horizon 6 as my racing has improved dramatically with a more relaxed and wider grip. If it holds up well enough over time, it'll be my go to controller for PC.

It arrived with the sticker seals on the controller's box already cut (the amazon shipping box was properly sealed, so I know it wasn't tampered with by the delivery driver), no instructions or promotional material in box, the right-stick was making clicking noises every time it passed the horizontal axis while rotating the stick; also, while giving the controller the initial usability test, left and right weren't registering at all on the right-analog stick. They basically sent me a defective pre-owned controller at almost full price, heck one of the back buttons, was already bound to a face button when I unlocked it, after clearing one back button, for some reason the other back button gained the binding for the same button...

I'm now wary when I see the same color (black&white) go back on sale after I got the controller refunded.

1-star because the controller DID feel good in my hands, and while testing calibration and deadzone of the left stick looked incredibly accurate, full circle rotation instead of maxing out to the square corners and edges of the testing-UI, but fact remains, I bought the controller under the impression it was new and got a messed up used one instead. Hopefully the full priced black ones are genuinely "new" and properly functional.

If you prefer the PS5 controller over the XS controller, this is perfect!

No stick drift with back paddles!

I do wish this came with mouse click triggers.

No issues at all with this controller, I liked the PS5 shape however PS controllers always had issues with Pc so this was perfect...for those that watch dragon ball....FUSSSSSION..HAAAAAA.

The wired connection is solid not loose at all,between turning the PC back on gotta unplug and plug it back in but that's all good amd feels nice on the hands,is a little light but it's alright.

Exactly what I expected. I use both PS5 and Xbox so it’s good for my brain to be able to use the exact same movements and ergonomics for both consoles. No need to account for different controllers

This controller is actually nice for the reasonable price. The buttons feel nice and quiet to press, the material feels premium like any official controller, and it works perfectly so far.

In my opinion its one of the only controllers with a nice responsive D-pad that feels like my inputs are very precise and easy to execute. Its similar to Dualsense but feels better and more accurate to me, I never get double inputs when trying to do diagonals, I never get an accidental up or down when pressing only left or right, and it just feels comfortable and satisfying to use overall. Far better than any Playstation controller D-pad and this controller is symmetrical unlike official Xbox controllers.

This Hyperkin controller is also quiet, it doesn't have the mouse-click garbage that a lot of other controllers are adding lately. Those mouse click controllers are loud, very annoying and break very easily and quickly.

The only cons would be that there's no wireless option and no instant trigger option.

Official Xbox controllers have decent D-pads as well but they are veryl oud for no reason.
