#UFOCFD (cartesian) 15M cells, ran on @dicehub T4 GPU in 3.5 minutes, Mach 0.7 case, cell size 2cm. Testing out the Roe upwind scheme implementation.

used #codex to add a Roe upwind Riemann scheme to my (#UFOCFD cartesian) solver with Harten entropy fix (instead of the existing ad-hoc pressure wiggle based smoothing). It seems to converge much better and result look ok.

Typhoon geometry from thingiverse.com/thing:4785984 at Mach 2 in #OpenFoam ran on @dicehub 8 procs, 2000 iterations, runtime 27 mins, mesh only 800k cells including layer mesh. Here showing isentropic Mach contours calculated from surface temperature. Ran in #OF12 "fluid" module.

This fictional hypersonic aircraft geometry (lnkd.in/e7gS5nsg) was run at #Mach5, using the #UFOCFD octree solver with mesh 12M cells. Viscous terms and Smagorinsky turbulence gives stability to the aft region where the flow becomes unphysical. Ran in @dicehub on 4 procs.
