Dark mode was a mistake. It does not save your battery, 87% of the web ignores it, and light text in a dark room measured as the worst case in a 2017 reading study. Just adjust your screen brightness:

In 2016 I bet that all UI apps will be built in JavaScript and built RxDB for that world. My next bet: people will run AI local-first. Model capability density doubles every 3.5 months, so 'good enough on your phone' has a date. My dates:

REST APIs grow with every feature you ship. Sync endpoints do not grow at all. 3 endpoints per entity: pull, push, change stream. Every new feature becomes a database query on the client. I wrote up why:
