MOHCD staff recently toured two major affordable housing developments underway in the Civic Center/Western Addition area. Everything is moving along smoothly on-site – we are excited to watch these buildings come to life and can't wait to welcome residents home!
Graphic collage featuring text reading "Kinda Chic to Build Affordable Housing" alongside photos of a construction crane over a new building, a wall mural, an interior apartment walkthrough, and MOHCD logo.
A grid of five photos showing a group wearing hard hats and safety vests touring the construction site of a multi-story housing development, including a rooftop view of the city, a courtyard, and interior hallway spaces.

The landlords of rat-infested Alice Griffith are set to pay $9M in city penalties and property improvements — the first settlement of its kind in SF history. The city attorney says Mission Local's reporting was a big factor. via @marina_e_newman missionlocal.org/2026/08/alice-…
