Hi everyone, I am newly diagnosed with stage 1a hormone positive and still pretreatment. It’s already decision fatiguing. I’m single and new to town so I am still building community. My parents aren’t in a position to be the support that I need but I’m glad they are in town. I just get overwhelmed with the stress of figuring out help like a ride to surgery later and stuff. Lots of stressful emotions like anxiety. I do have a faith practice and new church so believe there’s a way to be supported where my family can’t . I’m a librarian so happy to find lots of community and resources available for us in this situation! ❤️‍🩹

Hi all..hope today finds you well.. y'all I am so sick. I have had uncontrollable diarrhea since my first Keytruda treatment last Tuesday. I've lost 6 lbs. My Oncologists are waiting for stool test results to rule out an infection, c diff etc. If that's not the cause of my diarrhea they will pause the Keytruda. It's very disappointing. I was encouraged by the prospect having that in my corner in my fight. But I cannot tolerate the treatment. I don't have a question I just needed to reach out, I am in such bad place.

Live chat still not working. I click on it and it only goes to yesterday’s. Every day. Not sure why it does this off and on but that’s the way it is. Recovering from yesterday’s total knee replacement and doing ok. They warn me when I remove the pain pump from my thigh on Friday, to have my pain pills ready. Oh dear. Doesn’t sound like a happy weekend ahead. And so it goes.

I started on this site in 2023 after being diagnosed with MBC (to uterus). My initial diagnosis was 2012 with stage IIIC (all Lymph nodes under left arm involved ). ER+/HER2- . 8 rounds chemo and 33 rounds radiation . Anastrazole daily. I had a good run with no issues until 2023 when abnormal bleeding initially led to a diagnosis of uterine cancer , later changed with better pathology to MBC in uterus. I had a hysterectomy in May 2023 and started faslodex injections and Verzenio. I quit Verzenio in December 2024 as it was beginning to affect my quality of life. In June 2026, I had an abnormal mammogram leading to a biopsy and another left breast cancer diagnosis. This one is Stage IIA ER+/HER2+. The pathology is so different from my first two cancers that it’s considered a “new” cancer. I had a left skin sparing mastectomy last week. And see my oncologist later today. The plan is to begin Herceptin soon. I will remain on faslodex also. I feel very fortunate that while “CANCER SUCKS “, so far my cancers have been in body parts where they can be removed. I am running out of those parts, though. Has anyone had similar experiences to mine? I have been told my cancer has been anything but normal. And it has never showed up in my bloodwork. So I now have to get scans because the bloodwork is unreliable.I would love to hear about Herceptin and the experience with it.

Here's a new one....I am on a drug trial, though my doctor and team had to fight the drug company to get me included. It's a trial for a potential TNBC drug I guess, and apparently I'm not "TNBC Enough!" The actual manufacturer of the drug blocked their first attempt because my HR markers aren't quite low enough. I guess my doctor argued with them, I've been treated as TNBC for a while now. Can you even imagine?! In any case, they got me approved and I had my first treatment 11 days ago. Always something new to figure out here!

The ER+ Spot
I just learned I have a recurrence of ER+lobular. I had a lumpectomy and now surgeon wants to do mastectomy. I am very upset and I m 82. Why would I have chemo? What was the point of all that six years ago and anastrozole to have it come back? Was the first surgeon lax? I had no radiation. I would have to have drains. I don’t know how that works so this is just too much. Also I hve to have a pet scan. I just had bronchitis. Will that show on the pet scan?
