Inspiration

I noticed this decline in authentic professional connections on Linkedin and in the Community I belong to called ColorStack. So much so that the Career Referral channel is comprised of people asking for referrals without care(or even response from those they ask for referrals for. We have heard about recruiters and other mentors ghosting cold calls and meets. Attempting to solve this multifaceted issue is what gave birth to this app

What it does

Really Connect helps willing mentors and mentees to connect based on professional guidance and authentic human connection through a shared interest to ensure a long standing professional relationship

How we built it

Using React as a front end and Python as a back end with the help of Fast API and Supabase as both a database and Authenticator

Challenges we ran into

Connecting the Front and Back End is an ongoing problem we are attempting to fix

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Building an application that solves a legitimate problem that exists in the professional connection space.

What we learned

Ideas don't come perfectly formed in real life. Most (and if you are lucky, some) aspects will be imperfect and not how you envision it. So long as you give it your all, it will all work out.
