Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and [OWNER TO SET: legal entity name and address] ("AnyRouter," "we," "us") covering your use of the API gateway for large language models at anyrouter.dev. They apply to the API, dashboard, documentation site, MCP server, shared key pool, CLI, and any plugins we publish (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, generating a key, or sending a request, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Please read the Disclaimer, Limitation of liability, and Disputes sections. They limit our liability and, unless you opt out, require individual arbitration instead of court trials or class actions.

Summary

  • AnyRouter is a routing and serving layer. Upstream providers create the models and generate the outputs. We do not.
  • You use the Service, the free tier, free models, BYOK keys, and the shared key pool at your own risk.
  • You are responsible for what you send, what you get back, and how you use it, and you must follow each upstream provider's terms.
  • The Service has no warranty, our liability is capped, and disputes go to individual arbitration unless you opt out.
  • You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

Disclaimer

THE SERVICE, ALL MODELS, AND ALL OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANYROUTER DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE OR ANY MODEL WILL BE AVAILABLE, UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. YOU ASSUME ALL RISK ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE AND OF ANY OUTPUT.

  • Outputs can be wrong. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, biased, or infringing, and can look confident when it is wrong. It is not medical, legal, financial, tax, or other professional advice.
  • Free means no guarantee. The free tier and free models (including anyrouter/free, :free models, and models served by the shared key pool) come with no promise of availability, quality, speed, capacity, or continuation.
  • We route; we do not author. AnyRouter forwards requests to third-party providers and returns their responses. We do not create, control, review, or endorse model outputs or model behavior.
  • Provider terms apply. Each third-party model is governed by its provider's terms and policies. See Third-party models.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties to be excluded. In those places, the exclusions above apply to the fullest extent the law allows.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least [OWNER TO SET: minimum age, currently 16] years old and able to form a binding contract. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm you can bind it to these Terms. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including all activity from your API keys. Keep your credentials secret. If a key is exposed, rotate or delete it from the dashboard and email security@anyrouter.dev. We authenticate accounts through our identity provider (Clerk) and never see your password.

What the Service does

AnyRouter exposes API endpoints that forward your requests to an upstream provider (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Z.ai, or a Cloudflare model) and return the provider's response. Routing, fallback, and model selection follow your account configuration and our routing rules, so the provider that serves a request can change between requests. What we store and what providers receive is described in the Privacy Policy.

Third-party models

Models are built and operated by third parties. When your request is routed to a provider, that provider's terms, usage policies, and data practices apply to the content you send it, in addition to these Terms. By using a model you agree to follow the provider's terms. If you do not accept them, do not use that model. Providers can change their terms, models, prices, and availability at any time, and we are not responsible for their acts, omissions, outputs, outages, or data handling. Main providers:

This list is not complete. For any other provider, its own published terms apply. The model page in our catalog names the providers that can serve each model.

Free tier, credits, and billing

  • Free tier. The Free plan, anyrouter/free, and :free models are offered without charge, without a service level, and subject to per-plan rate limits (listed in the rate limits docs) and upstream capacity. We can change, limit, or withdraw any free offering at any time without notice.
  • Paid plans. Paid plans (Go, Pro, Pro+, and Max) add plan credit each billing period, as listed on the Pricing page. Unused plan credit rolls over from month to month. Usage is priced by the tokens each request consumes and drawn from your balance: plan credit first, then bought credit (credit you purchase or that we grant you). Bought credit never expires. When a Go plan ends (canceled, revoked, or refunded) and you have no other active plan, its unused plan credit is removed. On any plan, a refunded billing period's unused plan credit is taken back. When your balance runs out, billable requests are rejected until you top up.
  • Payments. Paid credits and subscriptions are sold by Polar, our merchant of record, which handles payment, tax, and invoicing. We do not receive your card number.
  • Price changes. Prices and limits can change. Current figures are on the Pricing page and in the dashboard.
  • Refunds. Prepaid credits are non-refundable except where the law or the merchant of record's policy requires otherwise. If you were billed in error, email support@anyrouter.dev.

Bring-your-own-key (BYOK)

You may connect your own provider keys. Requests served with your key are billed to you by that provider under your agreement with them, and AnyRouter does not charge credits for them. You are responsible for the key, its spend, and compliance with the provider's terms. We store BYOK keys encrypted at rest. You use BYOK at your own risk, and we are not liable for charges, rate limits, suspensions, or other action a provider takes against your key or account.

Shared key pool

The shared key pool is an optional community feature. If you donate a provider key, you allow other users' requests to be served with it, and you may use keys others have donated.

  • You must have the right to donate the key. Donate only when the provider's terms permit third-party use. Do not try to bypass the pool allowlist.
  • Donors carry the key's risk. You authorize the usage that flows through your key while it is in the pool, including provider charges, and you can withdraw it at any time.
  • Pooled use is at your own risk. Pooled keys can be withdrawn, rate-limited, or exhausted without notice. Requests served by a pooled key go to that provider under that key, and the provider's data practices apply. We do not guarantee availability, capacity, or the conduct of any pooled key or donor.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including privacy, intellectual property, and consumer-protection rights;
  • generate or distribute child sexual abuse material, or content that sexually exploits minors;
  • plan, facilitate, or incite violence, terrorism, or self-harm, or develop weapons (including biological, chemical, nuclear, or radiological weapons);
  • create malware, run cyberattacks, phishing, fraud, spam, or scams, or impersonate a person or organization to deceive;
  • harass, threaten, or surveil people, or build profiles of individuals without a lawful basis;
  • violate the usage policy or terms of any upstream provider your traffic reaches;
  • probe, overload, or bypass our security, rate limits, quotas, or billing, including by sharing or reselling access to evade metering, or by creating multiple accounts to multiply free-tier limits;
  • resell raw model access where a provider forbids it, or present AI output as human-made where that is deceptive or unlawful;
  • scrape the Service abusively or interfere with other users' access.

High-risk use. Do not use outputs as the sole basis for decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on people, such as medical, legal, financial, credit, employment, housing, insurance, or safety-critical decisions. If you use the Service in such a context, a qualified human must review the output before it is acted on, and you are responsible for that decision.

Your content and responsibility

You keep the rights you hold in your prompts and in the outputs you receive, subject to the terms of the provider that generated them. We claim no ownership of your content. You grant us only the license needed to route, process, store, and return your requests as described in the Privacy Policy, and to operate, secure, and debug the Service.

You are solely responsible for your inputs, for the outputs you receive, and for how you use them. You confirm you have the rights and any consents needed for the content you send, including personal data. You must review output before relying on it. Outputs may not be unique, and other users may receive similar output.

The AnyRouter name, site, documentation, and software belong to us or our licensors.

Availability and changes to the Service

We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service, and there is no service-level agreement unless we sign one with you separately. Upstream providers fail, deprecate models, change prices, and impose their own limits. We may add, change, or remove models, providers, features, plans, or limits at any time. Current status is on our status page.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANYROUTER AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID ANYROUTER FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. IF YOU USED ONLY FREE FEATURES, THAT AMOUNT IS ZERO.

We are not liable for the acts, omissions, outputs, outages, pricing, or data handling of any upstream provider, pooled-key donor, or other third party, or for any decision you or others make based on output.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for gross negligence or willful misconduct where the law forbids limiting it, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AnyRouter and its owners, operators, and contributors from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your inputs, your use of outputs, your use of the Service, your BYOK or pool activity, or your breach of these Terms, a provider's terms, or the law.

Reporting abuse

To report misuse of the Service, harmful output, or content that infringes your rights, use our abuse report form. We review reports and may suspend keys or accounts as described below. How long we keep request data used in a review is set out in the Privacy Policy retention section.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend or end your access, remove content, or revoke keys, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or a provider's terms, put the Service, other users, or a provider relationship at risk, fail to pay, or if the law requires it. We may also discontinue the Service or any part of it. When access ends, sections that by their nature should survive (payment obligations, disclaimer, limitation of liability, indemnity, and disputes) continue to apply.

Governing law and disputes

Informal resolution first. Before filing any claim, the party raising it must send written notice describing the claim and the relief sought (to us at support@anyrouter.dev), and both parties will try in good faith to resolve it for 30 days.

Binding individual arbitration. If the dispute is not resolved, it will be settled by final and binding arbitration on an individual basis under the rules of [OWNER TO SET: arbitration provider and rules], seated in [OWNER TO SET: seat of arbitration]. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in a small-claims court that has jurisdiction. Either party may seek an injunction in court to protect intellectual property or stop misuse of the Service.

CLASS ACTION AND JURY WAIVER. YOU AND ANYROUTER EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. CLAIMS MAY BE BROUGHT ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY.

Opt-out. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing support@anyrouter.dev with your account email and a statement that you opt out. Opting out does not affect the rest of these Terms.

Time limit. To the extent the law allows, any claim related to the Service must be brought within six months after the claim arose, or it is permanently barred.

Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of [OWNER TO SET: governing law], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing in this section removes mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live, including any right to bring a claim in your local courts.

General

  • Force majeure. We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including upstream provider outages, cloud or network failures, attacks, natural events, war, labor disputes, or government action.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, it is limited to the minimum extent needed and the rest stays in effect.
  • Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any plan terms shown at purchase are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
  • No waiver; assignment. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date shows the latest revision. For material changes we will give reasonable notice, for example by email or an in-product notice, before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
