Ryan Graff Contemporary presents Somnia, the debut solo exhibition from Larisa Brechun. In Somnia, artist Larisa Brechun lays bare the quiet privacy of the dreaming mind and the fugitive debris of memory, myth, and imagination as it freely floats in the liminal cocoon of sleep, coalescing into mysterious forms that defy daylight logic. Under her gentle hand, soft animal bodies take shape alongside evaporating cosmic beings and primordial symbols of wilderness, all adrift in the penumbra of the dreaming state, suspended in etheric margins between the deep woodland dark and the flirting light of a winking moon.Upcoming EventsOpening Reception📍

Schmierer creates intuitively assembled ceramic sculptures dense with pattern, imagery, and detail. Rather than editing down to minimalism, she embraces the intricacy of our visual culture. The themes that weave through this exhibition are the interconnections we share with each other and with our complex environment, the accumulation of moments that shape and connect us, and the complexity and fragility of life.Upcoming EventsOpening ReceptionArtist Talk

Bringing together artists across generations to confront power, violence, and resistance; from war and sexual violence to censorship, erasure, and the fight for autonomy. It’s Just a Shot Away asks what artists can do in the presence of violence: expose it, document it, resist it, mourn its victims, and create forms through which trauma can be acknowledged and shared. When language and institutions fail, art can insist upon attention and make visible what systems of power might prefer to remain unseen.

Currently accepted theories of the universe center around the idea of a singularity – a dense agglomeration of matter and energy – that in a spontaneous moment of unbridled expansion gave rise to everything we see (and don’t) and know (or don’t). New theories call into question the rationality of such a theory, as it stands directly at odds with the maxim that neither matter nor energy can ever be created or destroyed.Upcoming EventsFirst LookOpening NightPerformance & Dinner📍
