Everything that piles up, put away.
Screenshots
Wherever macOS saves them.
On the Desktop or in your own screenshot folder, CleanShot and Shottr included. Saved somewhere else? Add that folder in Settings. After two days they move to the attic, sorted by month. Other Desktop files stay unless you say so.
Downloads
Downloads that clean up after themselves.
Installers go after two days, everything else after two weeks. Downloads still in progress are never touched.
Leftovers
It knows what you’re done with.
Installers for apps you already have and zips you’ve already unzipped go first. Need the space back? Pick what’s sat in the attic for months, like old screenshots or installers, and send it to the Trash from Attic itself, when you say so.
Trust
Nothing is ever deleted.
Files are moved to ~/Attic. Attic never deletes anything on its own. Undo a whole sweep or bring back a single file. Tag a file “Keep” and it stays where it is. No account, no uploads.
It never deletes anything.
Moves, never deletes
Files go to ~/Attic, organized by month. Attic never deletes anything on its own.
Undo everything
The last sweep in one click, or any single file. Nothing is ever overwritten.
Stays on your Mac
No uploads, no account, no analytics inside the app.
Yours to keep
Undo, restore and the attic always work, with or without a license.
Attic sweeps once a day (at 9:00 by default), once a week or only when you ask, never the moment a file lands. Change the days or switch any rule off in Settings. Tag a file “Keep” and it stays where it is.
New in 1.1 · AI Tools
See what your AI tools leave behind.
Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, OpenCode and local models keep logs, caches, sessions and models in your home folder, sometimes gigabytes of them. Attic adds it all up, tool by tool, checks again every week and tells you when an agent starts filling your disk.
Only what’s safe
Debug logs, web caches and old background-task output can go to the Trash in one click. Nothing changed in the last 24 hours is offered.
Your history stays
Conversations, checkpoints and models are only shown, with each tool’s own way to tidy them.
Never your keys
Sign-ins, API keys, settings and memory are never offered. Attic reads sizes and dates, never what’s inside.
Watches for runaways
If an agent writes gigabytes an hour, or free space drops under 10 GB, Attic tells you.
The attic
Everything is one click from coming back.
Browse by month, search by name, Quick Look with the space bar, and restore with a click. Need space? Filter by how long files have sat there and send them to the Trash in one go.

Questions
Why isn’t it on the Mac App Store?
A sandboxed app can’t read where macOS saves your screenshots or watch that folder the way Attic does. Selling direct also keeps the price low and the license yours, with no subscription.
I use iCloud for my Desktop. Does it work?
Yes. Attic skips files that aren’t downloaded to your Mac, and the attic itself lives outside iCloud by default, in ~/Attic, so moving files doesn’t fill your iCloud storage. In Settings you can choose where the attic lives, even on another drive.
My screenshots go to another folder. Does it work?
Yes. Attic follows the folder macOS saves screenshots to, even when you change it. If your screenshots land somewhere else, add that folder in Settings, under Screenshot Folders. Images and videos there are put away like your other screenshots; everything else stays.
What happens the first time I open it?
Attic looks at your Desktop and Downloads and shows you the list of what it would put away. Nothing moves until you click Sweep Now, or until the first scheduled sweep if you click Not Now.
What if I need a file back?
Open the attic from the menu bar, find it by month or name, and click Restore. Undo puts a whole sweep back. Attic never deletes anything on its own, so it’s there until you say otherwise.
Can I try it first?
There’s no trial. It costs less than a coffee at launch, and if it’s not for you, you have 14 days to ask for a refund, no questions asked. Your files and the attic stay exactly as they are.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 14 days, no questions. Reply to your purchase email.
How many Macs can I use it on?
Two. You can move a license to another Mac by deactivating the old one in Settings.
What does AI Tools look at, and what can it move?
Only the folders Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, OpenCode, Ollama, Hugging Face and LM Studio document, in your home folder and Claude Code’s temp folder. It reads sizes and dates, never what’s inside. Only data the tools rebuild or never need again can be ticked, and it goes to the Trash, where Put Back works. Conversations, checkpoints, models, sign-ins and settings are never offered.
Which permissions does it need, and why?
Access to your Desktop and Downloads, and to any screenshot folder you add, to see and move what’s there. Optionally Finder automation, so the sweep animation starts from your real icons. Notifications, to tell you what an automatic sweep did, with an Undo button.
